Shoe stretcher July 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The shoe stretcher seemed to have done its job reasonably well. Although directioins said to leave in for 48 hours, the critical shoe required an extra 24 hours, but after that point it was fine. THe directions were clear.
Quality product but... June 9, 2008 This is a quality product but my husband was hoping it would also stretch the arch area which it did not. Also, since he wears a size 12, and the product works on sizes 10.5-12, he felt that it probably couldn't stretch shoes on the larger size as much as as it could shoes on the smaller side of the size range. It would probably work better in a size 10.5 shoe.
Nice and handy item June 1, 2008 I am a procrastinator. That is why I decided to get ahead of the "game" now. I have a pair of half boots that I want to wear in the fall and winter, but, they are a bit too narrow for me. So I ordered this great shoe stretcher. I also ordered some shoe stretch spray to help me along. They both arrived in a very timely manner. And they are just what I expected. I've done business here before and I will continue to do so.
Not great - could be better. May 30, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I used this with the recommended stretcher spray, but the results were disappointing. The 'pips' supplied for additional stretching in specific toe areas are inadequate, and badly, if at all thought out. The hole placements are limited to someone else's idea of where my shoe/s would be tight. I contemplated drilling new holes at the appropriate points, but as the shoes returned to their previous state within a day, it's probably not worth the effort. Maybe someday when I have nothing better to do.. After following their recommended procedure (with spray, left for 24 hours) several times in each shoe, I've given up this exercise as futile..at least for this pair of shoes, for which I purchased it in the first place1 Good luck.
really works May 11, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This shoe stretcher is the best value for the money. The ones sold at shoe repair places cost twice as much and don't stretch both width and length. I used this one with a shoe stretch spray to insure best results. After reading other reviews I knew to turn the lever very slowly just until I felt some pressure then go just a bit beyond. Other users have complained about the wood splitting with cheaper stretchers when stretched too far so I was careful to stop once it felt tight. It definitely works if you take the time to keep the stretcher in the shoe for at least three days. It works on both high heels (three inch heels) and flats and loafers.
