 Generic connector is weak. February 7, 2008
The slightest touch pulls these cables out, the "universal" connector is weak and barely holds. I have other cables that take to hands to remove, one on the cable one on the unit. Those are secure, these work, but they don't stay in tight.

These optical cables function perfectly. There is no need to spend a whole lot of money on cables. But I also did some research and I read a lot of reviews, and I didn't want to end up with chincy cables. I found these to be a good balance. I am using an optical cable between my new HDTV and my new home theater. I have no problems at all. I like how the seller only has a flat charge per shipment, rather than per item. Nice.

Good product, made a significant difference. I used it to hook up my PS3 for gaming a blu-ray and it works great.

I bought 3 of these cables for my home theatre setup. I use these to connect my PS2, Xbox and DVD player to my 5.1 audio receiver. They sound great and even through a splitter, I notice no drop off or signal loss.
Don't be fooled into spending too much on Monster cables (you're paying for the name), these cables are great. In fact, I'm thinking about buying some more for the next product I add to my home theatre.
The glow isn't too impressive, but the fact that they can fit into the slot at any position (they can rotate while connected), really cuts down on tangles and twisted cords.
