 Great fogger value December 21, 2008
This is a great fog machine and an extremely good value for a 1000 watt unit. I owned a different brand's 400 watt fogger and it was garbage. This is top-notch. It does not come with any fog juice & does not have DMX built in, but you obviously can add those - along with an wireless remote if you want.

The output from this fogger is huge! I had two 400W foggers before this one and I was not prepared for the difference. 1000 watts needs less heat-up time, so when you set it to run, it DOES!
BUT...
The specs say there's an auto-shut off when the liquid gets low. I specifically wanted this because I ruined another fogger by accidentally letting it run dry.
THE auto shut off DOES NOT WORK. Be prepared to monitor the machine very closely. It uses fluid faster since it kicks out more fog, so it may run out before you expect.
I ran it dry the second day of use - I suspect it could not have been more than a few minutes, but it was enough to break the machine. I mailed it back to Chauvet ($30 postage - I paid) and they repaired it no questions asked.
 Fogger is great...but the pump keeps burning out December 17, 2008
The fogger arrived with a burned out pump. Chauvet was easy to work with to have it shipped back, repaired, and returned to me. I used it 4 times and it worked great...until the pump burned out again. They should really address this issue.

I was interested in a fog machine. Knowing nothing about them I thought I would search the internet for some reviews and prices. Based on the comments by other users it seemed that there were a few leading manufacturers in the field of fog machines. The Chauvet Hurricane peeked my interest. The CFM was one of the highest for the price. The handle/over head hookup seemed to fit my mounting application.
Great for Halloween, even better for the classroom. Caution to alert others that you are using a fog machine. It is not smoke it is a precipitate.

Gear Tronix had the best price on these quality fog machines. I used them extensively for an outdoor production this year, and, even with a large outdoor area and brisk winds, the foggers performed exceptionally. Gear Tronix delivered them quickly and, again, with the best price I found. I will continue to check Gear Tronix for all my Chauvet needs.
