Works, and is nice, but hard to find music for October 25, 2008 I got this because I knew my boyfriend wanted an ocarina. The only problem with it is that its very hard to find music for. If I had to do it over again I'd buy the more expensive version of this that came with a music book. The product works, sounds good and is easy to make noise but hard to make a song.
Very good, reasonable price, fast shipping! July 15, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
For a first ocarina I think this was a very good choice on my part. It may not sound the best but it doesn't sound too horrible compared to some others I've heard.
The range is about and octave +6 (Mine specifically is B to E, I'm not sure if it varies between ocarinas). It's a simple instrument to pick up and play, and gives a rather pleasant sound. Also, it's plastic, so it's extremely durable.
The price was very reasonable, and came a day earlier than the shipping ETA (14th, estimated 15th-18th).
The only problem is the instructions are written in Japanese, but they are simple and easy to understand. There are bound to be more than enough tutorials on the internet for those who want more information.
I highly recommend this if you're a beginner.
Very Nice July 14, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This ocarina is very well-crafted with the tight-budget income consumer in mind. It plays just like its ceramic counterpart and is much more durable and long-lasting. Highly recommended. The instructions come in Japanese, however, so hope you brought a translator, 'cause I sure didn't.
