| Synopsis:
OUTLANDER begins when a space craft crashes into the majestic fjords of ancient Norway and into the time of the Vikings. From the wreckage emerge two bitter enemies: a soldier from another world - Kainan (James Caviezel) - and a bloodthirsty creature known as the Moorwen. Man and monster both seeking revenge for violence committed against them. As the Moorwen ravages the Viking world, killing everything in its path, Kainan forms an unlikely alliance with the primitive but fierce warriors. Combining his advanced technology with ancient Iron Age weapons, the hero leads a desperate attempt to kill the monster - before it destroys them all. |

Outlander February 27, 2010 Dennis Dieter (So Cal) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
True Sci-Fi fans will find this tale believable and inspiring...makes one expand ones concept of life in the universe.
The acting and story line is above average.
The special effects are above average for the time period produced...In fact, while perhaps not up to the current action film standards, the effects merge well with the content of the picture. With a little imagination, this story could easily have been turned into a series worthy of following.
To The People Ripping This Movie...Off With Your Heads February 26, 2010 Andrew Ramstedt (San Diego CA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Why don't the haters stay with movies that are suitable to them, like maybe the powderpuff girls? If your source gave you brains they must have slipped out somewhere along your journey. If you don't have anything nice to say keep your pie hole shut. This movie rocked! Great acting and special effects. Maybe people are narcotized by the average garbage that is spewed out and failed to recognize sheer genius and sensitivity. Gory ..yes. No gratuitous sex...bummer. Decapitations, yes. Maybe they will like the new bruce willis cop comedy instead, that looks really good.

Absolutely shocking.
If some odd folks in Holly-land with waaaayyy too much time and money on their hands decided to get together to create the dumbest f***ing movie of all time, then Outlander put that group of idiots at the top of their game.
Cliche February 15, 2010 A. Olson 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I tried to watch this movie. It had an interesting opening sequence.
5-10 minutes into it I realized the acting is terrible, the plot(so far) is predictable and cliche, the dialog is on the nose and full of exposition. My sister and I are now laughing at every single scene. This movie is terrible. If you like bad TV-shows then you might like this film. I feel sorry for the director who definitely tried. Big sound effects, special effects, stunts, and very professional and highly skilled cinematography. But the director lacked one thing, a sense of who to cast and a sense of how to fix bad, over acting.
I've wasted my 3-4 dollars on this film. I would be very angry about it, but I'm not because obviously someone spent a lot of their life making this film, and doing the best they could.
I have turned it off before seeing the end and am moving onto another film.
5 minutes of sci-fi February 12, 2010 maniac 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
There is a space mercenary with advanced technology that gets trapped on a backwater planet.
Rather than salvaging his equipment ( e.g. blaster et al ), he regresses into the Iron Age.
Talk about black holes > plot
