 CLOSE SHAVE FOR REAL October 12, 2008
I went from a rotery to this foil razor and I am very happy. The shave is easy on the face and cleaning is simple. Price and consumer reports review made my purchase of A new razor easy. If you want a clean close shave look no further then amazon.com and the Remington MS2-390 Microsheen 500.

I have been using it for a month and haven't found anything I didn't like. I like that the battery charges in 1 hour, and will not over charge if left plugged in.

Do you have trouble shaving day long or flat hair, or if you skip shaving for a day. My opinion, Remington gets a closer shave than Norelco. So buy any double or triple head Remington MICROscreen. Buy any Norelco triple head Razor that uses the HQ-9 head not the 8. Start- apply Remington stick powder. Quick shave first with the Norelco, it gets the long hairs much better. Then shave with the Remington for the final close shave.
Better than the Braun... stop looking at them October 11, 2008
I bought both this Remington and the Braun top of the line to compare them when my Braun 6000 series failed after 10 years (and it had replaced a Braun 5000 series). I fully intended to try both. Consumer Reports liked the Braun best but the Remington was their Best Buy at 1/3 of the price.
The result? I never even used the new Braun. The Remington arrived first, is ergonomically better in your hand, and while it is loud it is not louder than my old Braun ever was. The shave is as close as any electric can be, and that admittedly is nowhere near as close as a blade and never will be... but that is beside the point. The razor does for $50.00 what the Braun does for three times that, this has a much smaller footprint to store and does not need the stupid cleaning solution the Braun requires (and the not cheap solution needs frequent changing too).
Hey get this too... you CANNOT send the Braun back to Amazon as they will not accept it because the cleaning solution they send with the razor is deemed too hazardous to get back in the mail. So the 30 day no questions asked guarantee on the Braun is actually a 30 days "hey send it back to Braun it is not our problem anymore" guarantee. Nice huh?
Buy the Remington.

I'm very impressed with this shaver. It gives a much closer shave than the Norelco I used in the past, and holds a charge well.
