Amazon.com Review
For optimum cleaning performance, electric toothbrush heads should be replaced every six months. This set of two replacement brush heads fits Elite series Sonicare handles. Each head features a slim, angled neck and tapered brush with contour-fit, extra-soft bristles for gentle yet deep cleaning. --Ann Bieri

Amazon.com Product Description
Keep your Sonicare Elite toothbrush operating the way it was intended with Sonicare Elite-2 Replacement Brush Heads. Unlike other brands, Sonicare has created brush heads that provide six months of effective cleaning. Their precise combination of soft, extra-soft and super-soft end-rounded bristles ensure deep, yet gentle cleaning.

The Importance of Replacing Your Brush Heads
Brush heads are extremely important to the effectiveness of your Sonicare. Recent clinical studies show that after six months of use, a Sonicare brush head becomes less able to clean the plaque from your teeth. That is why we recommend replacing your brush heads every six months, regardless of whether they show wear. Sonicare replacement brushes are the only brushes on the market designed to last the full six months. So remember to track the life of your brush head and replace it as scheduled -- even if it doesn't appear worn.

5 out of 5 stars Once you go Sonic, you don't go back!   October 8, 2008
I got my Sonicare toothbrush about 4 years ago. At first, it felt weird using it - getting used to the vibrations and all. Now, I will never use anything else. The clean feeling is great. You just feel the total, deep down clean after you use this. The replacement heads can be pricey, but you can score some really good deals if you keep an eye out. It is very worth the price in my opinion and would definitely recommend it to anyone who can afford it. I plan on buying my 14 yr old son a Sonicare for Christmas this year. He has been asking me for one and I think it is a great investment on a very practical and useful gift.

5 out of 5 stars SONICARE IS ALWAYS A VERY RELIABLE PRODUCT!!   October 5, 2008

5 out of 5 stars SONICARE BRUSHES   October 2, 2008
FAST EFFICIENT DELIVERY -- HAVE USED SONICARE FOR 15 YEARS -- MY DENTIST LOVES ME

5 out of 5 stars Much Better Price Than Local Pharmacy Charges   September 30, 2008
My local pharmacy charges about the same amount for a single replacement head as Amazon charges for a package of two heads. It's always a pleasure to save a few bucks by ordering on-line.

1 out of 5 stars Planned Obsolescence   September 27, 2008

Here are two things Phillips will not tell you about their Sonicare toothbrushes and heads.

1) The collar that holds the toothbrush to the handle will disintegrate in a couple of months. That's what prompted this review, because they would not replace mine after it fell apart two weeks after purchasing a replacement.

They manufacturer these things to disintegrate so you will continue to buy replacements - planned obsolescence. However, I suspect their China supplier is skimping on the plastic specifications and they fall apart in weeks instead of months. (Do you think China would really do that?)

2) UNPLUG your base until you need to charge the toothbrush. If you charge it up overnight, then unplug the base, the toothbrush will work for four brushings per day for about a month. Then, when it signals or stops, plug the base in to charge it.

This method will allow your toothbrush to work for five years or longer. If you keep the base plugged in all the time, these NiCad batteries develop memory and will stop functioning after 18 to 24 months.

A bonus, if you travel a lot as I do, you don't have to pack the charger. Just make sure it's topped off and you're good for a month's vacation.
