5 out of 5 stars Very Happy With This Coffee   September 1, 2008
I am getting ready to order my 3rd 5 lb bag. I have been very happy with this mix. Great coffee for the price.

5 out of 5 stars This is a good brew, our OFFICE FAVORITE!   August 11, 2008
We have ordered many beans for our espresso machine (which doubles to make Americanos for some) and we have all agreed on this coffee. Its always fresh, slightly oily and aromatic. There's nothing like "Busting the Morning FOG" especially on a Monday. Our corporate motto is now .. "How about a fogbuster?" everyone says yes. We've probably had 10 bags so far.

5 out of 5 stars Lifting the veil   June 26, 2008
This is the first Jeremiah's variety I've tried, but I am completely satisfied and finally feel like I've had a "truth in advertising" moment of my very own. Although it's really the number of positive reviews already in place that sealed the deal. I figure if you're writing reviews about coffee on Amazon, you probably know a thing or two about the grind.

Now, to reiterate, Fogbuster consists of dark, oily beans packed with rich, nutty, semisweet flavor. It also makes a full-bodied iced coffee. Fogbuster is most similar in flavor to Taylor Maid Farms' Goat Rock roast; it's as good or better than any cutely named Blue Bottle variation; and if you're waiting to hear what I have to say about Pete's Coffee, you've missed the point.

I live in San Francisco where this is brewed, but the Jeremiah's store is in a sketchy neighborhood and it's actually far cheaper -- at the moment anyway -- to order Fogbuster through Amazon than Jeremiah's website. I've already set Fogbuster up to be ordered automatically every six months (I know one 5 pound bag won't last that long, but I also know I'm finicky and will want to try some others inbetween).

A parting shot at Jeremiah's: Offering pre-ground beans to your customers through a middle-man warehouse is akin to Ian Astbury joining The Doors. It's sacrilegious.

4 out of 5 stars Good, not great, coffee   June 17, 2008
With the Amazon discounts, five pounds of good coffee for under $30 is good. I expected more "Macho"/ Starbuck's type flavor. But it is still good.

3 out of 5 stars Weaker brew   May 4, 2008
The beans are oily with the appearance of an italian espresso bean. The brew, with a french press, is a rather flat, average coffee. Don't know whether its arabica or robusta or both. It lacks personality. I don't feel a kick of caffeine, either. I am neither here or there with this one. I know coffee because I worked at a gourmet coffee house well before Starbucks came along. This is just okay, not great.
