does not help hard to shave beards like the old Lectric shave did. Bought a Norelco 8020 and can not get a close shave so I remembered Lectric shave from my youth,,tried this,,doesn't work any better than the built-in gel in the Norelco,,very disappointed

This product is amazing... For those of you that went from a Razor Blade to an Electric Razor you hate that it doesn't cut as close. Well, use this stuff and you'll get a REALLY nice close shave with an electric razor. I use the Braun 9595 and it is amazing how close of a shave I get now.
Some things to be aware of - these are super small bottles but it should last you quite a while. Second, the smell (once you put it on your face) is super powerful when you first apply it to your face. Afterwards it is a soft aftershave type smell (not bad at all) that goes away after a few hours. Third, do not shave while this stuff is wet on your face - wait for it to dry off (depends on how much you put on but I give it 3+ mins with a light application).
This stuff is REALLY nice. It is interesting how all your whiskers stand up after it dries off your face. As other posters mentioned - it really does help cut down on razor burn and ingrown hair (especially on the neck area).
Shipping was fast in my case - definitely recommend this product.

Lectric Shave Gel Works Great February 2, 2008
Williams Lectric Shave Gel is an excellent substitute for the hard to get (at least in my area) Mennen's Afta Pre-electric Shave Lotion. I don' like the Williams Lectric Shave liquid as it feels to oily on the skin. So the Gel it is. Nice scent too.
