I started to take serrapeptase recently. I am using this brand because Doctor's Best uses pharmaceutical-grade enteric-coated serrapeptase from Japan, which is what the higher-priced brands use.
If you're not familiar with serrapeptase, it is a proteolytic enzyme isolated from the non-pathogenic bacteria found in the digestive tract of the Japanese silkworm. The enzyme is used by the silkworms to digest their cocoons, and it has been shown to dissolve arterial plaque build-up in humans and other animals. It also can reduce high blood pressure, and "eat" cysts, tumors, blood clots and other foreign matter in humans.
Serrapeptase has been prescribed for heart blockages for the last 30 years in the Orient and Europe, and it has been available in supplement form in the US for the last several years. It has been demonstrated that in 12-18 months, arterial plaque can be eliminated from human arteries and that it is much more effective and less invasive than EDTA chelation therapes, and pennies on the dollar, as well.
I haven't been taking it long, but I am happy with this supplement and I suspect that it is quietly doing its job in my body.
