good for fast eaters July 12, 2008 when i got down to the last can, i made the mistake leaving it in the fridge for days, and then eating. DO NOt i got food poisioning. not sure how long it can stay in the fridge. my advice, use a really good container or bag to store it in.
Corned beef BUT July 3, 2008 I love the idea of stocking up for snowed in days. Corned beef is a great way to keep meat on hand.
As one other reviewer said: the packing was terrible. Loose cans all dented up.
AMAZON: pack it like you do all your other stuff. Put in bubble wrap!!!
Good taste, once you get past the downsides March 22, 2008 I'll start with the downsides. First, some cans have large chunks (a couple tablespoons) of congealed fat around the outsides of the meat. All cans have a thin layer of the fat, which is inevitable and forgivable with canned meat. If this disgusts you, I don't recommend this product. While there's some fat in the meat, the chunks are easily cut away from the outside and discarded. The can's also not shiny and new-looking. It sort of looks like war rations: a bit dirty, dingy, and banged-up. It says it's from Brazil. These things may raise red flags for some people. However, the meat is good. It does not have the sort of weird gelatinous consistency that Spam has; more of a shredded beef texture. For this reason I recommend refrigerating the meat before cutting it up, so that it slices better. It's a bit salty, but not too much, and has a mild flavor. I don't think I'd eat it by itself or cold, but I like it in quesadillas or cooked in with noodles. I can also see why people fry slices of it. It's a nice thing to have around as a meat ingredient which will keep for a long time.
yummi, yummi great flavor January 12, 2008 I love corned beef and i love you Amazon for the price, what a deal for 6 cans just $11.93 and shipping free.Love it.
Yummy January 1, 2008 I know its processed Corned Beef but i grew up with this in the UK and thought it wonderful stuff. I still enjoy it and its very convenient to use for quick sandwiches or meals. As many will know the key mechanism has its drawbacks at times but hey, thats half the fun of eating this stuff!! If your expecting fresh cornbeef quality meat then your going to be disappointed, if you like the flavor of Corned Beef and dont mind the high fat content and it coming in a block then your in for a treat!
