addicted to it June 28, 2008 I'm amazed how quickly I got hooked on this stuff. I bought one canister, ran through it, then had to go back to morton's, which tastes so jarring and chemical-like to me now. I love the mellow, healthful grittiness of RealSalt, and I suspect my cravings for it are motivated by my body's appreciation of the minerals it contains.
Real Salt, with minerals and vitamins, enjoy. June 14, 2008 This salt has a great flavor and texture. The plastic packaging keeps the salt from weakening and deteriorating. Real salt comes from the ground because of the remains from old seabeds. The minerals and vitamins it contains are not made with added chemicals or manufacturing. I love the added flavor and colors this salt adds to my food.
The best of all salts June 4, 2008 I have tried them all, from all over the world; this is the one that is the best for the least.... the most important point is the salt has been sealed from pollution for milennia, unlike the more expensive French and Italian stuff that dries in the sun while diesel and gas exhaust settles down on the beds, not to mention a few tons of seagull contributions... I never found any so called grit in my salt, unlike another reviewer. You will never be able to use basic table salt again after trying this.
Mmmm... gritty. April 14, 2008 I would really like to give this product more than one star... oh it tastes fine, and I love the idea of healthy mineral-rich sea salt.
The problem is, on a couple of occasions I've eaten food onto which I've sprinkled this product and almost chipped teeth on sand-sized mineral grit when I bit into it.
So, until Redmond improves their harvesting and screening procedures, I simply cannot recommend RealSalt.
The Only Salt for my Table February 11, 2008 The great taste and fine texture of this ancient sea salt seems to allow us to sprinkle less salt onto our food thereby cutting salt consumption. Thus a 26 oz. pouch lasts almost 2 years. We refill a smaller RealSalt shaker. Price does not matter as much when it extends over such a long period of time. We use regular salt in cooking as it dissolves into the dish where the fine texture would have no appreciable effect. But must importantly, every sprinkle reminds of those magnificent trips to Southcentral and Southeastern Utah. And it tastes great too.
