Acerola - Strawberry Juice August 26, 2008 This product is labeled as "Coffee Berry Juice", but the first two ingredients are acerola puree and strawberry puree. The predominant flavors are of acerola and strawberry, with an unusual aftertaste that may be the coffee berry. It also is very sweet, no doubt due to the addition of cane syrup (the source of common sugar).
The container boasts of the anti-oxidant powers of the fruits in the recipe, but I suspect that the health benefits of them are offset by the negatives of the cane sugar for most of us.
Sweet Fruit Juice August 24, 2008 Although the name of this product is "Coffee Berry Juice", coffee berry fruit is third on the list of ingredients, following acerola puree and strawberry puree. It also contains 25g of sugar.
The strawberry and acerola flavors predominate, the whole being rather sweet and with a bit of an odd aftertaste.
Delicious August 21, 2008 I was only given one drink as a sample (come on, don't be so cheap), and it's a little difficult to make any kind of extensive value judgment just from that, but I have to say, I really enjoyed it. I like the idea of taking down my coffee in its full form.
I'm not sure the added sweetening is really necessary, but it's not a huge deal.
I'm also not sure if it tastes precisely like coffee.
About all I can recommend is that you take the time to give it a shot.
Berry Good but not for the Price July 28, 2008 The package when it arrived, immediately grabbed my fourteen-year-old health nut daughter's attention. We like simplicity and natural. This juice delivers in both. Very low in fructose and contains very little chemicals and dye.
The taste is odd. A mixture that leaves a weird, pomegranate aftertaste in your mouth and not much in the way of coffee. It was tolerable and comparable to most natural, low sugar drinks out there. However, it wasn't striking. And after seeing what it would cost to constantly be stocked in our home, unfortunately not worth the buy for us.
Berry good! July 24, 2008 It's exactly what it sounds like... berry coffee. I like it, it's an even mix... just as berry-ish as coffee-ish. It sounds like a weird combo, but I like it. If you're the type who like orange juice in the morning rather than coffee it's a good mix of caffine and non-coffee flavor.
I actually recognize all of the ingredients in this, too. It's not a dextrose-high fructose corn syrup- other factory produce list. It's pretty natural, which is very appealing to health nuts like me. Also moderate calore-wise, about 100.
I didn't get much of a caffine jolt out of it though.
It's hard to open, too. Just be aware of that.
