Doesn't give me the "jitters" like normal sugar July 18, 2008

Maple Syrup (and so I assume also this sugar) is an excellent source of manganese and a good source of zinc. Manganese helps regulate your blood sugar. I don't think I get the same "jitters" from my morning coffee when I use this sugar. Others have told me they also don't get the "sugar high" and subsequent "sugar coma" when they use this sugar instead of sugar in the raw. Just wish it weren't so expensive.

This stuff is delightful! I've bought maple sugar from another source for many moons and opted for this because the price was a bit less. (Go figure!) Anyway, the texture is the winner with this product. Its less-refined presentation features a fun crunch along with the sweet maple sensations in your mouth. That the sugar is organic matters less to me for any nutritional bias, but does touch my conscience when I can know that well-cared for trees supply a business's success and profits while enriching our nation's GREEN FUTURE. They need not be "added to" nor "chemically altered" in order to create a delicious natural sugar from the past, for now and on into the future.

This is a great way to add maple and sweetness to oatmeal, ice cream, or any time you want that maple syrup flavor. It's a great deal in the larger container, too!
