Healthy Snacks June 13, 2008 I have my Cairn Terrier, Cracker, on a diet to help with his displastic hip. He is very picky about his snacks so I was pleasantly surprised to see that he did not turn up his nose at this healthy option. I even throw a couple in with his kibble to encourage him to eat his dinner. Thanks for a great product.
"MADE IN CHINA" May 7, 2008 5 out of 10 found this review helpful
We lost a dearly beloved animal companion due to the poisoning of pet food from China. He enjoyed that food very much and then it killed him.
I have been to China and met many lovely people and they of course are not all responsible for that tragedy. But until we have been convinced that our trust will not be violated again (pet food, toothpaste, painted toys) we will not consume anything from China and neither will our critter companions.
If they will produce this food and the ingredients in a safer location, where stricter controls are in place, we will buy it.
Kelly loves these treats! May 4, 2008 My geriatric Boston really, really likes these treats. I'm not sure they really do much for his breath though. He's got hugely bad breath from badly decaying teeth. At 14 years of age, though, it's very risky to put him under for any more dental surgery. He had 5 teeth pulled about 16 months ago. The remaining teeth that are causing problems would have to be "cut out" and I don't think he could survive such drastic surgery at his age.
He does, however, like these treats. I feel good that they are supposedly natural and good for him. Who knows these days? I did notice some digestive upset initially which could have been another change in his diet. So, the jury is still out on whether or not the problem was caused by these treats or other changes. I'll update down the line. The only other treat I give him are the Solid Gold Turkey Jerky, which he also loves!
