Sprouted brown rice bowl June 7, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Annie Chun's sprouted brown rice bowl makes a terrific on-the-go lunch. It is nutritious, has an appealing texture and has a fresh, slightly sweet flavor. It heats in a minute and a half in the microwave. Annie Chun has figured out how to make instant rice just right. This rice bowl is just as good as freshly cooked rice. I have been eating this rice topped with green soybeans and a dash of soy sauce for lunch regularly for about a year. It beats cafeteria food any day.
The sprouting process increases the nutritional benefits of the brown rice (germination neutralizes phytic acid, an enzyme inhibitor, and thus makes the protein in the brown rice more digestible). This brown rice, when combined with beans or nuts, is a great choice for vegetarians.
Too Good! April 21, 2008 I try to eat a healthy diet and love to eat rice with vegetables. This product is so great - when I am running late this takes no to cook time while I steam a vegetable(s.) Otherwise, I might be eating tortilla chips and other "bad" stuff. Plus, I have priced this at a grocer's and am getting a much better deal with Amazon - granted, this item is expensive for what it is, but as mentioned above it is definitely worth it.
sprouted brown rice -a must! March 24, 2008 I was happy with this purchase, it is awesome, quick and healthy, wow! I am ordering another case!Annie Chun's Rice Express Sprouted Brown Rice, 6.3-Ounce Microwavable Bowls (Pack of 12)
good breakfast rice bowl March 20, 2008 This is really good, with a slightly nutty or toasty flavor, Not as chewy as most brown rice bowls. My family members favorite use for this is served at breakfast with cinnamon sugar (and milk for those who do dairy,) on it. I should note that while the blurb indicates a twelve pack of the sprouted brown rice bowls, what I actually received was 6 brown and 6 white which is fine with me I personally prefer the white sticky rice. this was probably a fluke as none of the other reviewers mentioned it.
Awesome but expensive March 15, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love this rice. It is very, very good tasting. I like it better than Go Go Brown Rice, although that is pretty good, too. Sixty seconds in the microwave and you have a healthy addition to lunch. It's a little expensive, but a lot less on Amazon than in the stores. For the convenience and how good it is, I think it's worth having it in your pantry. I heat this up for myself when the rest of the family is eating white rice with dinner.
