I like this pouch because you can take it anywhere; to the office, camping, leave it in your car! It's light and easy to carry. Most important the taste is great. Put it on pasta, toasted ravoli, even pizza. It's healthy and low in calories. Plus now that raw tomatos are making people sick, this already cooked product is safe to eat.

Great taste, easy to make May 15, 2008
I'm not much of a cook and probably never will be, so anything quick and easy and ready-made is something I am likely to try if given the chance. Since I already know I enjoy Ragu pasta products thought this Simple Smooth Pasta sauce in Tomato Basil was a great item to try. Loved the flavor, loved the texture, loved the 90 second cook time even more.
The flavor is strong without being overpowering and does taste exactly like the regular jarred Ragu sauce of the same flavor. The basil adds just enough kick to keep the sauce from tasting boring. Acid content of the tomatoes was also low which is good for folks who love tomatoes but not the occasional burning or stinging sensation that comes from eating too many.
This is the perfect quantity for a single person or a couple who don't want to be stuck with a lot of left-overs. I get bored eating the same thing for too long and more than a couple days' meals out of something I cook and I'm tired of it. However, if you have a large family, or even an average size family, this product is probably not going to work too well for you. You'd have to make several packets to get enough to feed everyone and the cost of thee types of items is not real conducive to that. Families are better off buying the regular jarred version of the same sauce and taking the longer time to make it.

Let's Call It Super Ragu April 17, 2008
For generations Ragu has been one of the most trusted brands in pasta sauce. Don Ameche used to do the commercials on TV. It was one of the pioneers in quality sauce that families could just take out and heat. And now the question became: can they offer a microwavable version of it as tasty or even BETTER than what's in a jar? And if you microwaved it, wouldn't it be a mess?
The answers to all of these questions are: Ragu is going to make a LOT of "pasta" on its sales of this Traditional Tomato Basil. Why? The flavors are bold, yet have the familiar Ragu taste. You might call this "Super Ragu." It is AS GOOD as any sauce in a bottle. And it lives up to its promise of simplicity: just cut off the top of the envelope, stand the envelope up, stick it in the microwave, follow the directions and you have an instant high quality meal. The portions also go a bit farther than you would think. Unless you like drowning your pasta in sauce, you probably could feed one more person than what's noted on the envelope. HIGHLY recommended. YES it is Ragu. But it's easy to fix Super Ragu!

Dinner can be on the table in literally minutes with this great packaged tomato sauce from Ragu. Boil some noodles and heat the sauce, instant dinner! Not only that, if you need a sauce for dipping bread sticks or for making paramesean chicken, this is perfect. Quick, easy and just the right portion for a family of 5.
