Yummy! October 3, 2009 George Megenney (Central Valley, California) I first read about Arctic Zero on the Hungry Girl website. I was really curious about it so I started looking for it at my local grocery stores. None of them carry it, and the nearest place that carries does so on the shelf is about 100 miles away from where I live. I had hesitated to purchase ice cream that was this expensive... Let's be frank, $45 for 6 pints of ice cream is ridiculous when you can buy the same quantity at a fraction of the price at the local grocery store. However, the curiosity got to me and I caved in and ordered 6 pints of the chocolate peanut butter. I've been dieting since the beginning of the year (60 lbs down so far) and it's precisely this type of product that I keep an eye out for; low calorie and high quantity. Up until now having a frozen treat meant having a Skinny Cow or a Weight Watchers product, or some of the fat free stuff. Arctic Zero is wonderful if you are trying to limit your calorie intake and want to be able to indulge. The flavor, in my opinion, is sweet, but not powerfully so. I think that the texture is similar to fat free ice cream. (Many reviews here have said that it's like a frozen protein shake... I can't verify that because I've never had a frozen protein shake.) While I will admit that Arctic Zero won't satisfy you if you're looking for something like a pint of Ben and Jerry's, it's great if you're looking for something that will fit into a healthy lifestyle but won't make you regret eating the whole pint. (I'll admit that I did just that after I opened the first one up.) I'll be ordering more (even if sparingly due to the high price).
Not much taste August 31, 2009 Bailey This was a very expensive lesson learned. This product was tasteless and not sweet at all. Will not order again.
Awesome!! August 21, 2009 J. Olarte I just received my order today and I love it! The packaging was done very well. It was almost 100 degrees with the humidity and I didn't get home until 8pm and most of the cartons were still frozen. I don't love the packing peanuts though. The ice cream itself is surprisingly rich and creamy. The flavor was nice...not too strong or sweet. It was so rich I didn't think there would be any way I could eat the whole thing. Well...I did! You definitely don't need to though because it does leave you satisfied. I would completely stock my freezer full if it weren't so expensive. It's hard to justify spending so much on ice cream. Definitely worth it for the occasional treat though. Please sell in NYC shops!!
Great Product August 20, 2009 Amy Nestor (Texas) I really liked this product, it tasted much better than I thought it was going to and it was great eating an entire pint for only 128 calories. It also satisfied my craving for ice cream, as it is very filling. I was concerned about the delivery of the product, but it arrived quickly and was in great condition, especially since it was sitting outside in 100 degree weather. I know that I will continue to buy this product, the only drawback is that it is rather pricey for only 6 pints.
low cal and low carb but low satisfaction too :( August 20, 2009 Fit Foodie (New York) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was very excited to receive arctic zero but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. I completely agree with another reviewer that said it tastes like a frozen protein shake...which isnt bad mind you but not worth the price in my opinion. I am not interested in eating the pints right from the freezer with a spoon but they do make a tasty breakfast when mixed with shake mix ins like fruit, milk, ice, cocoa, pb2 etc. Its not offensive at all, just not delicious and yummy. I like large portions and I'm health conscious ..so the volumetrics way of eating appeals to me... but in this case, I'd rather have a 1/2 cup of light ice cream than a pint of arctic zero. Great concept but I will never crave it. Unlikely I would buy again. Sorry. BTW I never wrote an Amazon review before but I felt compelled to do so.
