Great Tasting Milk Organic Nonfat Dry Milk Powder November 7, 2009 Roger Voelker Received the Organic Valley Powdered Milk within a few days of placing the order through Amazon.com.. I placed 16 oz. of water into a container with 4 tablespoons of the powder and mixed it up. I tasted it and it was better than the store bought milk. Also, this milk has no pesticides, hormones or antibiotics and is certified
as organic. I drink three cups of double strength espresso a day and so I need to use some fat free milk to
enhance the taste. The Milk is so good, I do not need to put any sweetener in it. I have been searching for a
solution since two years for a Milk source. I rely on the comments of the customers at Amazon.com to guide me
in finding products that will suit my needs.
I can recommend this product.
Quality and convenience October 21, 2009 C. D. Foster (Olympia, WA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I do quite a bit of baking, and when a recipe calls for milk, I usually add dry milk powder to the dry ingredients and then add water for the liquid. Over the years, I've tried many different dry/instant milks. This is the best!
The convenient pouch is resealable, and easy to open wide enough to insert a measuring cup. To me, that is preferable for measuring over a small pour spout. The milk powder itself is silky in texture, and dissolves quickly. It doesn't seeem to lump and clump like many do. The flavor is excellent, like all Organic Valley products.
While I don't personally reconstitute dry milk for drinking by the glass, for those who do, this could be a good choice due to the ease in dissolving and the fine flavor.
Because the seal is quite secure, it is also more shelf stable than most. This has earned an ongoing place in my pantry.
Good, but messy September 4, 2009 Lois S. Robison (NC mountains) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Once mixed the milk is quite good. I use it to make yogurt also. However, it is such a fine powder it takes a blender and warmish water to get it to dissolve, and with a blender it foams up so much it overflows. And clouds of milk powder can float around the kitchen! I also wish the package had amounts for making quarts, as well as just cups. Yes, I can do the math, but having it there would help. I also looked for recipes on their website, such as yogurt, using their dried milk and there were none.
Delicious! April 15, 2009 D. Price (Anywhere, USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Organic Valley Organic Nonfat Dry Milk Powder definitely sets the standard for other dry milks! It does not have that "processed, cardboard" taste that supermarket milks have and the fact that it is organic only adds to the wholesome nature of this item. I mainly use dry milk for baking and when I make yogurt, so a fresh taste is essential to the finished product.
If you're considering purchasing dry milk, I would highly recommend that you try Organic Valley.
Good powdered milk, poor packaging February 19, 2009 Michelle Szilagyi (Gregory, MI USA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
So far we've enjoyed this powdered milk in recipes, plain, and in home made hot chocolate mix... it's good. We've had no mixing problems with it. Amazon took care to ship this to us by wrapping it together securely, but the bags are horribly thin and we ended up with a tear and powder all over everything in the box anyway. Amazon was very prompt in replacing the damaged product.
