The butter curry chicken paste is really delicious and easy to prepare with very minimal prep time. It's also not too spicy so that even my spouse who grew up eating rather bland food spiciness-wise, and has a low spicy food tolerance will eat it and ask for seconds. The taste appeal of the butter chicken curry seems fairly universal (which I can't say for all the K of I products). When it's on gold box sale, this curry paste is really a steal.

Prior to discovering this product, I was making a very generic type chicken curry, really just chicken stew with curry powder added....... I ordered this when it was on special, and didn't really know what to expect. Now that I've used it, I must say it's very good, spicy but not too hot. I usually use two packages and a whole cut up chicken that I lightly brown, and then add one medium sliced onion. It's quick, easy and so delicious.

I usually buy the Butter Chicken curry from KOI, but thought I'd try this one. I am a bit disappointed because I don't think it's as good. However, I would not characterize it as bad either. It has a slight clove-ish flavor to it that I do not find unpleasant. Those who like really hot curry will probably want to add some chili flakes to it.
When making the KOI curries I add more meat than the recipe calls for, which extends the dish without loss of flavor. I usually serve this over rice, but I think it's good also with potatoes and peas. Skipping the chicken altogether, this curry paste could easily be used to make a very good vegetarian curry.
I will buy this again.
