Easy and Yummy! November 6, 2009 karen efthemes Made this soup last night. It was sooo easy and yummy! I was not sure how much doctoring would be necessary to make it tasty for everyone and was surprised to find that it needed little help. I followed the directions on the bag and mixed with vegie stock/water (I had to add a lot more than listed!) and some of the basic vegies on hand - onions, garlic, carrot, celery - that was it! I tasted and it was delicious the way it was.(with salt and pepper to tase). I did not add milk to make the creamed version as I really liked the clean simple flavors of the mix. It was so easy, required no special ingredients or trip to the grocery store. Love it!
THERE IS NO BETTER SOUP MIX October 27, 2009 Joann Goldberg (New York City) THIS IS THE BASE FOR ALL OF MY SOUPS. ADD CHICKEN STOCK, BARLEY AND WHATEVER MEATS & VEGGIES YOU LIKE. YOU
CANT MISS.
Healthy, good and easy! March 17, 2009 G. Michael (Sacramento, CA) Makes a good soup. Needs to be ''spiced'' up a bit, but a lot better than canned soup for sure! Handy to have in the pantry!

TASTY! February 14, 2009 JJH-V (Washington State) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I made my soup with four cups of low sodium chicken broth, one cup of the mix, some chopped onion and carrots, and a sprinkle of salt-free garlic-herb seasoning. It was delicious, and VERY filling -a meal all by itself! Next time I make it I won't add anything extra, just to see how it tastes that way. As it was, I kept adding water and ate on one pot of soup for four days ... ("Pease porrige hot, Pease porrige cold...") Another reviewer mentioned that the soup was very thick when mixed four to one as recommended, and that is very true. It could be eight to one and still make a nice soup... I highly recommend it however you cook it!
