I find these very convenient for work. Storage is a breeze, it takes only boiling hot water and a few minutes to make one, and I like the flavor. Great for when I don't have a lot of time, or just can't bring myself to spend 4x as much at the building cafeteria for something mediocre. Sometimes I toss in a pinch of spices or a little salt to vary it a bit. Low in fat, high in protein.

Nile Spice Black Bean Soup is the perfect low-fat and high-flavor meal or snack. It sure doesn't taste like a convenience food. Just make sure you give it the full time to "cook" in the cup before eating, and guaranteed you will be absolutely delighted by the full, rich flavor and texture of this ultra-satisfying soup.

I LOVE these soups. My favorite is the red beans and rice and the black bean. I find that it's a little better if the soup stands for 10 minutes not 5 but still that's faster then a drive-thru! The red beans and rice has 10 grams of protein and only 1 gram of fat and 170 calories! The other soups are similar in the calories and protein. I am a vegetarian and I and happy to find a high protein, low calorie, great tasting, fast food that doesn't break the bank. It is fantastic to take to work as the hot water spout in the coffee maker works. I eat at least one cup everyday!
Great for camping and backpacking June 11, 2009

This is great for camping and backpacking, and you don't even need the packaging if you need to conserve space. Just empty the cup into a plastic ziplock bag. Then you can mix with water right in the bag or use your camp bowl.
If you are cold camping (fireless) this summer, this mix works really well. As above, mix with water right in the bag, then put the bag on a sunny rock for an hour, or tie it to the top of your backpack if you're on the move.
Overall, the flavor is pretty good, but I like to hit it with a little Tapatio. Tapatio Salsa Picante Hot Sauce, 32 oz.
