Product Description
FreshPak Udon Noodles are more flavorful and offer a more satisfying texture than everyday dry noodles. Creamy fresh white miso makes this soup full-bodied, while seasoned red miso intensifies its rich flavors. Together, they bring you what the Japanese call umami - that ultimately delicious state when complex flavors attain perfection. In Japan, miso is valued for its energizing qualities, and my soup is the perfect soy food to energize your day. Annie Chun's Noodle Bowls are instant gourmet food, perfect for lunch or a quick dinner at your fingertips. This meal comes to you in a biodegradable bowl that decomposes in the soil with no harm to the earth. It's better for the planet and one small way we can care for our environment together.

3 out of 5 stars A Decent, Quick Meal   June 25, 2009

This soup is a fairly tasty meal that can be made fairly quickly, and it is low in calories. The udon noodles are the best part of the soup; thick and hearty, they really make the meal. The miso paste smells savory and gives the soup its distinctive flavor. But the packet of dried "vegetables" is not very pleasant. Even when rehydrated, they retain their cube-like shape and must be stabbed apart with a spoon. Mixed into the vegetable block are a few cubes of painfully gritty tofu. Actually, the chalky white substance hardly bears any resemblance to tofu; it's almost like the marshmallows in Lucky Charms cereal.

My other qualm about the soup, which lowers its rating, is the extensive and unnecessary cooking instructions. In lieu of following the directions, I always placed all the ingredients in the bowl in which they came, then added a cup of boiling water. Then, I let the bowl sit for about 5 minutes and stirred it.

Overall, I do not regret purchasing this soup, but I won't be buying another case.

4 out of 5 stars delish taste   June 1, 2009

I really think the taste of this soup is great. You aren't getting fresh, just made to order soup, you are getting a microwave meal. But I do think this is the best alternative! all of the veggies and herbs reconstitute very well, but the tofu doesn't but because it is small, it isnt a big deal and didn't taste bad.

5 out of 5 stars Soup Scoop   March 16, 2009

I enjoyed Annie Chun's Miso soup. I have only two problems with all of the Annie Chun's soups that I have bought from Amazon.First, there are so many that I have trouble deciding which kinds to pick. The second one is that My son and his girlfriend also likes eating these soups. I have bought as three different kinds at one time but, after dividing up the soup I got less than they did. My son eats Annie Chun's soups everyday for lunch. He's in college and it saves him money and he saves a lot of time by fixing these soups. I have already promised my son that after taxes I'll order several more and he and his girlfriend has already put together a list of their favorite kinds!

5 out of 5 stars good product   March 2, 2009

If you're a fan of Miso soup, you'll like this combination. It's flavorful; fast, and filling. I add squares of baked tofu for added protein.

4 out of 5 stars Taste great   February 27, 2009

I purchased this when it was about[...] for the 6 pack. Found the deal on [...]. Great deal. Don't think it's worth over [...] however. Pretty expensive at it's normal price.

This was my first time trying this brand. Probably one of the best instant soup products I've tasted. This isn't loaded with salts like most others and it taste healthy.

My only gripe is the amount of plastic and waste caused by this product.
