Great mac and cheese replacement! November 15, 2009 Valerie A. Hammond Annie's gluten free is better than regular mac and cheese to my husband and I (who is a real lover of the dish)! We started eating according to our blood type which means gluten free. We were buying this macaroni and cheese at about $4 a box. Buying it in bulk is much more efficient, and we really enjoy the product. Shipping was prompt and on time as predicted. This product really is a great substitute for Kraft. Kudos Annies!
Delicious Mac & Cheese meal October 24, 2009 Sally McElwee (Lafayette Hill, PA) My daughter is celiac and really missed Kraft's macaroni & cheese. Luckily we found Annie's because she loves it. She now lives in Ireland and I have to ship it to her by the case.
Annie's GF Mac n Cheese October 22, 2009 L. A. (Milwaukee, WI) This is the perfect comfort food for those of us who cannot eat gluten. I let the water (along with olive oil and salt) come to a rolling boil, dropped in the noodles, stirred until it came back to a rolling boil, and let it go for ten minutes stirring occasionally. I drained the noodles. While they were draining, I mixed 1/4 cup water, some butter, and the sauce packet in the pan until blended. I then tossed the noodles into the sauce and mixed. Perfection. It was just like Kraft, only way better. In fact, it was so good, I ate the entire box in one sitting. I ate it again the next day. This is becoming an addiction.
Good Mac and cheese October 9, 2009 C. Berr (Ohio) I got this for my husband and he loved it. He can't eat gluten and I think he was relieved to see that he still could have the foods he used to eat. My only complaint is that it seemed to be almost half the amount of the nongluten products. He's a big eater, so I had to make two boxes. But I'm glad the product is available.
Good substitute for "regular" box mac & cheese October 7, 2009 Mom of two (Staten Island, NY United States) I buy this product for my son who is on a low wheat diet. It's pretty good but as others have noted you must cook the rice pasta longer than the box indicates for it to be edible (especially for a child). After the pasta is cooked I prepare it just like you would prepare the typical box mix (add the butter/margarine back to the pan with the hot pasta, then add in a small amount of milk to get the correct consistency). If you have an extra minute or two, it is also better to heat up the mixture in the cooking pot/pan. This blends everything together really well. My opinion is that it is not good at all if you follow their preparation directions (my son has rejected it several times when prepared by their directions).
