Good pool cover pump November 13, 2008 I purchased this to remove the water from my above-ground pool cover this fall. I have used it 3 or 4 times so far and it has done an excellent job. It will not completely remove all of the water, but enough to relieve the weight and allow the sun to dry the remainder. (The product manual states this very clearly.) Good product and good price.
Works well on hot tubs June 21, 2008 I bought this product to empty my hot tub. It empties it quicker then I can fill and clean it with my garden house. I like how a regular garden house can hook up to it. And you can use a water nozzle or sprinkler and water your garden at the same time. Good value and good overall product.
Simer pump June 2, 2008 I needed this pump to replace a worn out pump used to remove water from my inground swimming pool cover when opening it in the spring. It is relatively lightweight but effectively moved a lot of water. I am happy with this purchase.
Seems like good value. February 8, 2008 Although I have not yet used this pump for its intended purpose (to drain my hot tub), I tested it in my sink and it seems to work just fine. Considering the price, in my mind, it's a good buy.
Outstanding Pump (Time tested.) November 24, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've had an original Simer Geyser pump since 1987 and it is still working good. I use it to pump my pool cover and to pump out my pond. The original Geyser had an all-metal case and has withstood getting frozen solid in ice for weeks at time and getting clogged with muck. It can also run dry for days at a time if someone forgets to shut it off. The Geyser II has a plastic case and so far has not been tested in solid ice. (I'll update this review after the winter.) Tip: To cut down on leaves and muck clogging the unit, I put the pump in a 5 gal. bucket that I have drilled with many " holes to act as a filter.
