Amazon.com Review The power of steam meets the digital age in this electronically equipped iron from Black & Decker. Programmed to display temperature settings and signal the auto-off function, the iron's mini LCD monitor includes back lighting for easy viewing. It works in conjunction with the unit's SmarTemp system, an audible alert that sounds when the desired temperature is reached. If you feel comfortable using a standard dial setting, then this iron may be no more than a lateral move. But if you've always felt unsure launching into ironing without some feedback, this could be your machine. The iron comes with a highly polished stainless-steel soleplate, a good choice for long life, easy glide, and corrosion-resistance. The water features include spray, variable steam, and surge to make your labor more efficient, and the vertical steam is handy for hanging garments and draperies. For safety and extra peace of mind, the iron automatically shuts off after 10 minutes of being idle. It also comes with an extra-long cord, a custom-fit measuring cup, and a self-cleaning anti-build-up system. Black & Decker includes a one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard

Irons Well But Fails Quickly November 13, 2008 The all digital controls on this iron failed completely in 6 months.
Until then, the iron performed per Consumer Reports review -- very well. Lots of steam and great glide.
I was seduced by Consumer Reports review and the price! After it failed, I bit the bullet and bought a Rowenta Professional, made in Germany, with mechanical controls. This is the iron I'd recommend, even though it costs $100. The Rowenta has even more steam and has now been performing without a problem for 2 years.
Another case of "penny wise and pound foolish," and "you get what you pay for".

Good iron for the price September 18, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
A few years ago, one of my Christmas presents to my soon-to-be husband, was to launder and press his shirts instead of taking them to the cleaners. My old iron really didn't have the heft to press the shirts properly, so I ordered the Black and Decker D2020 Digital Advantage Iron. What an improvement! I still hate ironing, but this iron makes it a little more enjoyable.
BTW, my now-husband, soon gave up on my ironing ability and again takes his shirts to the cleaners.
Good Iron September 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the most expensive iron I have owned and so far I am very happy with it. The steam is good, no splattering. The sole plate is smooth and it has lived up to everything I had read about it before buying.
I make everyone buy this iron September 3, 2008 I have had two Rowentas, one T-Fal among other irons and they were awful. The Rowents lasted one year before losing heat. So I went for the old standby "Black & Decker". I love this iron (I iron lots of stuff). Told my friends, my daughter, who told her friend and they all love it. I am looking to replace it, mine started leaking a bit, but it is old and I am definitely buying this again.
