Amazon.com Review Conquer the limits of space and time with this cable-free radio-frequency thermometer from Oregon Scientific. Tuning in to as many as three remote units at once, this thermometer helps monitor the four corners of your kingdom from one base unit. The kit includes one remote sensor, which can be stationed up to 120 feet away and sends signals every 30 seconds. The main unit's LCD screen lets you assign a channel to each remote, and then scroll through the menu as necessary. You can also set temperature range limits, program alarms, and recall recent highs and lows at each location. A temperature-trend icon reveals whether temperatures are rising, steady, or dropping. The thermometer's base-unit range is 23 to 122 degrees F, while the remote sensor runs from -58 to 158 degrees F. Both units feature an optional Centigrade scale. Designed for the desktop or the wall, each piece of equipment requires two AA batteries. --Emily Bedard

Negative experience November 16, 2008 NOT SO GOOD TRANSMITTER & RECEIVER WORKED FINE FOR ABOUT A WEEK. THEN TRANSMITTER SHUT DOWN. NEW BATTERY, TWICE, MADE NO DIFFERENCE. UNABLE TO FIND A PATH TO CONTACT AMAZON. DID FIND A PATH AT OREGON SCIENTIFIC WHICH PROMISED A RESPONSE WITHIN 4 DAYS. BEEN 2 WEEKS NOW AND NO RESPONSE FROM THEM. RECEIVER STILL WORKS FINE BUT GIVES ONLY INDOOR TEMP. TRANSMITTER WAS IN SHELTERED SPOT AND SUFFERED NO DAMAGE OTHER THAN ZOMKING OUT.
BAD EXPERIENCE WITH BOTH COMPANIES
A Good Buy! November 1, 2008 Product works great and was easy to install . . just insert batteries in both units and hang. The large digital display is easy to read, much improved over my previous model (another brand).
Almost as Advertised October 30, 2008 The thermometer arrived quickly and was easy to set up. As noted by other reviewers, the operable distance between the outdoor transmitter and the indoor receiver is considerably less that the advertised distance.
Very Reliable October 23, 2008 I bought this same exact Thermometer 10 years ago. I defintely got my moneys worth out of it, but unfortunately, It recently bit the dust and I have been like a fish out of water ever since. I have friends that have different Thermometers that has the atomic clock and thermometers with all the bells and whistles and have had problems with theirs continuosly. I looked specifically for the same one that I had before and just purchased it again. It has been Very reliable for 10 years and I dont ever have to worry about the clock being set wrong or any of the added features messing up. Its very basic with low maintenace. You have to change the battery occassionally and you are good to go again. For a basic reliable indoor/outdoor Thermometer, I Highly recommend this product.
Range not as claimed October 22, 2008 I purchased this thermometer to replace a more elaborate La Crosse unit that I have had for several years. One of the main reasons I purchased it was the claimed range of 330 feet. When I installed it the receiver lost contact with the transmitter almost immediately. I do have steel siding on my house but the La Crosse has worked in the same location and the transmitter and receiver are literally on opposite sides of the same wall. If metal house siding precludes use of this thermometer I think that should be stated in the literature. I ended up returning returning the unit. Because of Amazon's great return policy I was out only time and effort.
