Great light weight tool September 25, 2008 This tool is a light weight, hard working impact driver. The only problem with it is that, being snub nosed, it will fall out of a holster. It has survived many 8 foot drops. I have switched to a hook no longer have the problem. GM in GF
Amazing Tool! August 11, 2008 I used to be a professional carpenter and was around before nail guns and cordless drills were common. I have used cordless drills for driving screws for decades.
I read a review of impact drivers in Fine Homebuilding and decided that a tree house project with my kids would be a good excuse for a new tool. I had no idea how much better this tool is for driving screws than a drill. It is simply fantastic. As the screw gets low into the wood, you can still go at low RPM and get the screw into the workpiece.
For myself, I probably would have gone with the 18v version, but I got the 12v version for the lower weight so my kids could use it. My 6 yr old daughter was driving 3" screws into treated lumber and treated plywood. It is simply amazing how well this tool works. I put a socket head on it and was driving 1/2" lag screws into a rock hard maple tree.
It came with two batteries and that was plenty for a full day of work. I am glad I did not buy the 18v version as this is plenty powerful enough and the lower weight is nice.

A Great Driver August 11, 2008 I like the 12 Volt, because it is lighter than the 18 volt and it has all the power I need to drive screws. This was a reconditioned product but it looks brand new.
Changed my way of working January 28, 2007 I bought this to work as a team with my 18volt drill planing on using it to drive the screws that the drill had predrilled holes for. I found it can drive 3 inch deck screws into studs with out the starter holes. I do mostly set construction and this has drastically increased my productivity.
One of the best tools bought in the last year January 10, 2007 I work as a professional remodeler and cabinet installer, I spend several thousand dollars on tools each year, and could not be more pleased with this impact driver. It has excelent power and I love the speed. Finding bits for it isn't always easy but is well worth it in my mind. My only complaint is that the tool is reconditioned in Mexico, but have honestly had no problems whatsoever
