Product Description Cuisinart TTG500 Two to Go Coffeemaker - Though we'd love to sit back, relax, and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee, life has a tendency to keep us active and on-the-go. This device is designed to make coffee for the active individual, ready to kick-up and start the day with sips of this tasty warm beverage. Indicator light Auto shut-off #2 coffee filter starter kit
Amazon.com Review Perfect for preparing coffee at home before dashing out the door, this coffeemaker brews through the lids directly into either one or both of the 14-ounce travel mugs accompanying the machine. The stainless-steel mugs have rubber, nonslip grips, fit most vehicle cup holders, and are 6-3/4 inches high, with 2-5/8-inch-diameter rubber bottoms. Lids keep coffee hot in the mugs and are deeply indented and sloped toward the drink hole to contain spills. Both mugs and their lids are dishwasher-safe. The coffeemaker uses disposable paper filters (two included), automatically shuts off after the brewing process, and can also be used to heat water for tea, hot chocolate, and instant foods like oatmeal and soup. Made of gleaming black plastic, the coffeemaker measures 13 inches high, 5-1/4 inches wide, and 8-1/2 inches deep, and carries a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Fatal Flaw in Otherwise Solid Product October 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Many of the reviews mention that the on/off switch doesn't work after a while. Well, mine broke after just 2 days. This is because there is a fatal flaw somewhere in the manufacturing of the product, and the button simply fails at a very high rate. I bought one of these at a department store, and it didn't turn on/off at all. Then I bought another from Amazon, hoping to fix the problem and get a better deal, but now the button on this one has stopped working after TWO DAYS! Since I love the design of the product otherwise, I went to the store, bought a switch, and wired it in myself. It looks horrible, and I've spent about 2 hours dealing with it, but at least it works. Should Cuisinart, an otherwise respectable brand, really be putting this kind of garbage on the market? From the looks of the reviews, this switch is failing very often. I don't write reviews of products as a general practice, but this was so infuriating that I took the time to do so. Don't buy this product unless you want to return it sooner or later because of a broken on/off switch.
Cuisinart Two-to-Go Coffeemaker October 13, 2008 While I am satisfied with the product, Amazon's shipping via USPS left much to be desired. I was informed to expect it within 6-7 days, and when it didn't arrive, I called twice three days apart and both Amazon and the postal service couldn't locate it. I was given the choice of cancelling the order and re-ordering it (which was out of stock and would take three more weeks), or simply receive a refund. It finally arrived after 10 days-it only traveled about 150 miles to get here!?
Not even 2 years old and already shorting out. September 13, 2008 I've loved this thermal coffee maker and use it all the time-- so convenient for the person who drinks just one mug of coffee a day. Keeps coffee hot for several hours within the mug, very quickly makes coffee, etc. The easiest one to clean you'll ever see!
However, recently mine has been taking up to half an hour to slowly drip out coffee, and that filled with grounds. I believe it has a short-circuit somewhere within the machine, and it's not worth it to repair it. Too bad-- I got it not even two years ago and I already have to replace it!
Perfect if you're the only coffee drinker in your house.... August 19, 2008 I really enjoy this little machine - it brews fresh coffee right into my mug (no pot to wash), fits neatly and unobtrusively on my counter and holds enough water to make 2 cups if needed. My only reservation is that the coffee isn't extremely hot - not enough of an issue for me to stop using it, but especially noticeable if milk or cream are added...I sometimes need to reheat the mug before I've finished my coffee.
On/Off switch did not work August 8, 2008 I was not able to brew my first cup of coffee as the on/off switch did not work. I returned the product and am now waiting for credit from Amazon.
