Product Description This carbide tipped trim blades is the perfect replacement blade for Porter Cable, Makita or similar trim saws. Heat-expansion slots help to prevent blade breakage by allowing it to expand doing operations where friction-causing heat may occur. Application: Trim Saw Blade For Porter-Cable And Makita Saws
Amazon.com Product Description The Freud Difference Freud manufactures some of the most innovative, technologically advanced woodworking tools and accessories in the world. To ensure that the highest quality products meet the toughest design standards, Freud owns and operates six manufacturing facilities in Western Europe. Freud is one of the few manufacturers of woodworking tools in the world that produces its own MicroGrain carbide with titanium, called TiCo -- a combination of titanium and cobalt. Freud develops different types of carbide for each application to maximize the cutting life and performance of the tool; and Freud also operates one of the most modern product development research centers in Europe. By overseeing the entire manufacturing process from start to finish, Freud guarantees some of the highest quality, most advanced products in the industry. About Freud's Avanti Blades Freud's Thin Kerf (TK) Series of blades provide precise, quality cuts for most every application. The advanced thin kerf design removes less material -- thereby reducing the strain on your equipment and increasing the life of your saw. The slim design requires less cutting power from both you and the saw, making these blades ideal for underpowered saws. A Silver I.C.E. coating on all Freud TK blades helps reduce friction, heat build-up and gumming, thus extending the life of the blade by as much as 50 percent. About this Trim Saw Blade The Freud 4-3/8-inch 36-tooth trim saw blade features carbide tips for a precise cut and a thin kerf for less power consumption. For easy use and added precision, the blades also feature an anti-kickback design, and Tri-Metal Brazing for impact resistance. This blade also features expansion slots that help control expansion from heat during operation -- without the added noise. The blade is laser-cut and computer pre-tensioned for a long life and smooth operation; and the tungsten carbide with titanium resists the acids and chemicals that are naturally present in wood. The trim saw blade works well as a replacement for Porter Cable saws, Makita saws, and other similar trim saws. Applications Use this blade for fine cuts with Porter Cable, Makita, or similar trim saws; it tears through crosscuts, plywood, rips, laminates and chipboard. Warranty The blade comes with a limited lifetime manufacturer's warranty.

Freud Tk-001 blade for PC 314 trim saw. December 22, 2007 I bought this blade because I have had great results with Freud blades and customer service from Freud. It was a wise buy instead of the Forrest blade costing almost $50.00. Flat top desiqn I feel will out last the alternate top bevel that is on the Forrest and is not likely to chip as easy either. You have to lightly press the blade into a piece of wood to keep the saw arbor from turning when you need to remove the blade not something I like to do to a blade. Crosscuts and rips very well in solid wood as well as plywood. Although Baltic Birch plywood did chip on top more then I had expected. However a insert in the saw base should take care of most of that. One note though is that the arbor bushing was a bit under sized for the 20 mm blade arbor hole. A tap with a hammer and nail set to put a very very small dimple on 2 sides of the bushing took care of that. Very pleased with blade over all, just wish I did not need the arbor bushing. $23.38 for this blade is a steel !! Sure wish Freud blades were made in the USA.
Super with 1x hardwoods March 6, 2007 I'm not exactly sure what the guy who didn't like it was trying to do but this is a fantastic blade whose one fault is like the tool it's made for is a narrow range of capability. Within that narrow range though nothing performs better. I've made glassy smooth crosscuts in 1x Birch with this. It actually cut better than a Freud F40 on a stationary tablesaw. But I wouldn't recommend it for cutting wet 5/4 PT decking. Not that I tried it. But common sense about saw blades tells me that this would gunk up and start burning immediately if you were to do that.
My Old Dull Blade Was Sharper! May 20, 2006 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I thought that this had to be a wonderful blade because of the Freud name. I put it on my trim saw and I thought I put it on backwards it cut so badly. I tried to use it once, then put my old blade back on with the missing teeth; if you're going to cut anything harder that hot butter, don't buy this high-priced coaster!
36-tooth Finish blade for my 4 1/2" Porter Cable finish saw. March 16, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this blade so I could get shop saw quality on the job site when cutting finish trim. Both hard woods and soft woods. I GOT IT !!!!! Thanks.
