Product Description Ideal for apartments and quick household cleanups, this lightweight Hoover S2211-100, cordless, rechargeable broom vacuum captures dirt in a chamber rather than a bag, cleans both carpets and bare floors, and can be stored on a wall-mounted recharging rack (included). To drive the brush roll, the 10-inch head has a motor separate from the suction motor, and the head's window permits monitoring of brush roll operation. For bare-floor cleaning, the brush roll shuts off. Emptying the dirt chamber is easy, and a filter inside the chamber may be brushed clean or washed. The brush roll can be cleaned easily, but if its belt wears out, it must be replaced by a professional. Power comes from long-life nickel-cadmium batteries that can also be replaced by a professional. The vacuum lies flat for cleaning under furniture, weighs less than 5 pounds, assembles with two screw-nut sets (included), stands 44-1/2 inches high, and carries a one-year warranty against defects

you get what you'd expect April 24, 2005 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I think you get what you'd expect from a machine like this. It isn't a powerful Dyson product, but it does a great job picking up the majority of visible stuff off our bathroom area rugs and the berber in our bedrooms. I like to use it to run over the rug before someone stops by or pick up a chunk of something my kids just spilled on the floor. Then i can pull out the big vaccuum down the road, but this takes care of it in the meantime. i'd buy mine again.
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL March 2, 2004 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I cannot imagine why this vacuum is no longer available. I bought mine for $35 about four years ago. The charge lasts beyond a quick ?1000 sq ft area. I don't have to sweep or dust mop I just vacuum. It picks up everything. At about 700 sq ft I have to empty the dirt but the charge lasts longer. It's four years now so I am having a little problem with suction. I t probably needs a cleaning but a replacement @ $35 even $50 would be expected. I've certainly gotten my $$$ worth
Great Vac October 19, 2003 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This has been the greatest little vacuum I have ever had. It picks up hair and even little rocks. Great for a quick pick up. Great on carpet , small throw rugs, and even bare floors! I can't say enough. I love it so much I plan to buy more for Christmas presents. Deanna
Hoover S2211-100 Cordless Vacuum May 22, 2003 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Nice idea (cordless, light weight, bagless), but here are a few gotchas: (1) The roller brush jams up with hair, rug fibers, etc. It is easy to remove the gunk, but sometimes you need to take the entire head apart and remove stuff with pliers. In some cases, the plastic bushings for the roller shaft are actually damaged (melted). Which leads to... (2) There are no significant repair parts available online from Hoover. You will need the brush assembly and plastic bushings at some point in time. The batteries will eventually die (will not hold a charge after 12-18 months). You can take the vacuum to a Hoover repair center, but it would be nice to be able to order the parts directly.
Lasted only a few months of light use. February 14, 2003 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As the title says, it started to fail after only a few months of occasional use on hardwood and linoleum floors as a secondary vacuum. The tiny wheels jammed and fell out. It didn't have much sucking power either.
