I do not have this lamp yet, but plan to buy one (or one like it). I've had other ott products. Regarding comment number two above: Yes, this is true that only one bulb fits this lamp, but that is the point. The Ott light is a particular bulb that you very much want to buy it is a full spectrum ... minus the dangerous cancer causing non-visible light) ... light that does not get particularly hot. This is what minimized the eye strain. So, you are really buying a bulb and whatever lamp they provide with it. Expect to buy a very expensive OTT light replacement bulb (20 or 30 bucks) but this is THE REASON to buy this.

Have had this lamp for several days--it's very well made (completely out of metal) and is just gorgeous with its functional aesthetics. The color is a variety of grays. I also love the way the cord is shown (instead of being hidden within the lamp base and pole)--it gives it a bit of an edgy feel. The lighting itself is quite bright and nice to use. I use it to read, surf the web, and do close needlework. No eyestrain and it allows you to see colors very well. I was somewhat concerned when purchasing this, as I've read a lot of complaints about the Ott lite and its ballast. Before getting this lamp, I contacted Ott lite via email and they told me these were earlier issues and they've been fixed. Hope so--will update this review if anything happens. But in the meantime, I'm really loving this lamp with its stylishness, quality build, and wonderful lighting. Of course this takes a special bulb that you pay more for but it's a full spectrum light. For the price you can't go wrong.

Looks like a nice lamp, but watch out. Replacement light bulbs have a custom made adapter by OTT-Lite, and if you can find them are about $30 a piece. Normal light bulbs will NOT fit in the lamp.
