| Customer Reviews:
Sturdy machine September 10, 2008 Sears sells this Poulan string trimmer as a Craftsman #791860.
This is my second gas powered string trimmer and by far a better machine than the other. Very easy to start, and runs strong. My other model was smaller, cheaper, and had to run full throttle constantly to work at all. This one needs full throttle only for the largest woody stemmed plants, and sometimes cuts through soft grass without engaging the throttle at all.
A shoulder strap would be helpful when engaging larger jobs since this is not a wee little machine. But it feels balanced well enough otherwise.
This is the easiest starting 2-stroke engine I've ever used.
Poulan ppb250e August 17, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The poulan ppb250e string trimmer's biggest draw back is the fixed head dual exit string. It needs to be replaced too often and replacement involves stopping the unit, removing the portion of string left in the trimmer head and installing a new piece of string. The string supplied with the ppb250e does not stand up to much use. (trimming along a side walk wears the string down after a very short distance)
