5 out of 5 stars Only thing that worked!   September 12, 2008
We live in an apartment on the East China Sea in Japan - barely a 1/2 mile from the water's edge and the pigoens love our balcony! This tape is wrapped to hang along our balcony and shines reflectively against the sun and makes noise against the wind. Works great! We've tried a fake bat, owl, snakes, even WD-40 on the balcony - you name it! Our neighbors have spikes and the birds just perch on the spikes. Our balcony has been pigeon and poop free for a year now. We have had to replace it after the "winter" and typhoon season beacuse the reflectiveness wears off in wind and rain after a while - but little problem and work for us to keep these nasty birds away!

3 out of 5 stars Happy Birth Day   June 16, 2008
For what I received for the price I paid I'm not impressed. I could have went down to the local party store/craft store and purchased a roll of shinny ribbon for a heck of a lot cheaper then this stuff. Waste of money in my mind.

1 out of 5 stars Ineffective as a bird deterrent   June 13, 2008

I tried putting Irri-tape around the yard to scare away the birds who were feasting on my dog's food. It worked for maybe a day then the birds realized it wasn't a threat and started ignoring it.

If you're considering getting this to keep birds away from your pet's food, try getting a Bergen Aut-O-Dine instead. That worked beautifully for me.

In my opinion, having this tape hanging all around is not only ineffective as a bird deterrent, it looks trashy.

4 out of 5 stars This tape solved our woodpecker problem   April 28, 2008

We have had returning woodpeckers marking our home for the past few years. We have repaired and replaced shingles but nothing seemed to deter them. When they returned this spring we used this irritape and they have not returned. It was a good investment.

3 out of 5 stars Didn't do the trick   March 26, 2008
Is there anything that scare away puertorrican birds away? I live in P.R. and these birds are smart! I've tried everything from owls to scarecrows to this. This gadget scared them the first week and now they got used to it and I have bird mess in my balcony once again. I'm going to try to put more strips in the balcony but I'm afraid it'll look like a Street Fair rather than a home.I'm dissapointed.
