Professional quality, but not for a single user October 20, 2008 I recently purchased the Werner MT-26 to trim bush and tree branches, and hopes of cleaning the gutters of my two-floor house. I did not consider purchasing a normal extension ladder because I do not own a vehicle large enough to transport an extension ladder that extends to 26 feet in length or more. The construction of the product is very good and I found it to be very sturdy. It folds to a relatively compact size. The only drawback that I found was that - at 60 pounds - it is very difficult to use as an extension ladder by one person. It definitely needs two people to be able to manipulate it from a horizontal position to a vertical position (it does not extend like a normal extension ladder).
Strong But Not For The Weak October 11, 2008 An excellent multi purpose ladder, exceptionally strong. and fairly easy to maneuver into position; but the MT-26 is quite heavy and not for those that cannot handle 50 lbs. !! A well consrtucted ladder that should last for years and offer peace of mind 10' in the air !!
Very useful but kind of heavy April 5, 2008 This ladder is great as described. I use this ladder to change my bulbs from the fan hanging over 13 feet high. Like some reviewers said, this ladder is very heavy and hard to move around. To extend the step ladder it may take some getting used to at first. It almost came down on me a couple times when I tried to lower it, so be careful. If you are a very small and petite person, you may need to have help with carrying or extending it.
Great ladder, bit on the heavy side. November 17, 2007 This is a great ladder. As a step ladder, it is VERY stable and really great to use. If you want to extend the ladder all the way as an extension ladder, it can be a bit of a challange though. Great ladder thought at a GREAT price.
On The Heavy Side November 2, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a well made ladder, very sturdy. However, if one is going to turn it into an extension of any appreciable length one better get some help to stand it up. This thing is a monster to try to handle yourself. I needed a 26ft ladder to do some work on my house, I couldn't stand it up, this thing was just too heavy and unwieldy. I borrowed my neighbors extension ladder. Don't let anyone fool you, this thing is not as easy to use as a regular extension ladder and a heck of alot heavier. Hope I can move it at my garage sale next year.
