Doesn't work on thicker walls November 3, 2003

I have an older house (1929) and the stud sensor worked fine on the areas of new construction. However, on the older areas where the plaster walls were thicker, the stud finder constantly indicated the presence of a stud. In the newer areas of the house it worked fine.
