Super accurate tool at a great price. January 29, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a very accurate tool at a great price. It is not as user friendly as some of the other protractors on the market but it is much more accurate. The overall feel and quality of the tool are excellent.
The only complaint that I have is that the tool did not come with instructions. They are readily available on the Grizzly and the Amazon web site however.
Different than what the picture shows December 9, 2005 The blade and rotation lock are not what the picture shows. The one I recieved is round without the little nub on top that would make it easier to lock in place. I would rather have it the way it is shown.
Very good for the price. January 29, 2005 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This item is a very good item for the price. I give it 4-1/2 stars, as I will only give a 5 star rating very rarely. It's accuracy is to within about 5 minutes--it seemed to be off by about 3-4 minutes when I measured it against my square on one side of the leg, and 0-1 minutes on the other side. On most cuts, I am confident with my measurment to within 1/4 of 1 degree, and many times even less, to as small as within 1/10 of 1 degree. Some things that I don't like about it: The angle stop is metal on metal and can slip. There is (in my opinion) a design flaw that doesn't allow you to measure angles on one side of the leg between 28-60 degrees, which almost caused me to return it, until I figured out that you can measure angles from the other side. You can measure all angles, but the guide does not give very much info about how to use it, or tips, so if you get one, just be prepared to figure out how to use both sides of the leg on your own (which is really very basic once you figure it out). I like this item very much--and there are a few things that could be improved upon it--but for the money, it really is a good deal.
