Amazon.com Remember how cool we all thought that first Dremel was? We're reliving the feeling with this one: lighter, faster, smarter, better, and stronger. The main improvement over the last generation is the battery source: lithium-ion. There are so many reasons to applaud. Lithium holds its charge up to six times longer in storage than nickel-cadmium batteries, so it's ready when you are. Remember the disappointment when you were ready and your battery was low? That won't happen with this one. It's got a battery fuel gauge that tells you how much life is left before a recharge, so you won't be caught without your Dremel, and if you choose to keep it on its charger, you won't cause memory and shorten the charge capacity. It's small, it's light, it's comfortable and maneuverable; it's everything the corded models are, but without the cord. We love it.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Pretty Awesome. October 15, 2008 I always heard about how useful a Dremel tool is, be it in my hobby RC car days, or my (current) auto-enthusiat days. So, I finally got my first dremel and it's awesome. It's easy to hold and adjust the speed on the fly. It's perfect for so many tasks. I've been looking around my house/car for things I can cut, drill, or sand just so I have more reason to use it. Not only is it fun, it's useful. I recommend you have one. You'll be surprised how many little jobs you will use this for that you would otherwise improvise with whatever tools you have for a makeshift job.
excellent product and customer service October 11, 2008 Dremel 8000-02 10.8V 120V Lithium Ion Cordless Rotary Tool
Excellent purchase. I use it for dog nails, battery lasts a long time, dogs love it, quiet and easy to hold. I highly recommend this product.
Dremel 8000-02 10.8V Lithium Ion Cordless Rotary Tool October 6, 2008 I bought this dremel to trim my dog's nail. I was concerned it might be too powerful but it's perfect on the lowest setting. The noise level is low and doesn't bother my dog. I wish I had purchased it years ago. I've only had a it a few weeks and have already used it for a home project as well.
A tradesmart.net recommendation September 30, 2008 Buy a second battery. You will use this thing a lot. I bought it to file my dogs nails after way that junk advertised on TV. Dremel is the best and used in all industries.
Pleasantly Surprised September 6, 2008 This tool is way more versatile than I originally thought. It is well-balanced and remarkably easy to use. The battery charges quickly. Everything about this tool makes it a must-have. I've always thought it would great to own a Dremel, and with all the add-ons (wire brushes, polishers, cutters, grinders, sanders, etc) I'm sure I'll never rue the day I bought it.
