Heater November 17, 2008 I've been using this in an unheated sunroom. It works well and keeps the room warm. It does not have a setting dial so its 'hit & miss' by turning the dial. That is annoying because you need to keep checking the room temps and turning the dial up or down. Also, there are two lights which should go on and off when the heater turns on. They do not work. I didn't want to go through the trouble of returning it because of the lights.
Otherwise, it keeps the room warm, and is slim and attractive.
Quiet warmth November 16, 2008 We bought this heater to take the chill off the den for a couple of hours when we watch TV on cold nights. Even at a low setting it spreads warmth throughout the room. We like the fact that there is no noise other than the occasional click when the heater cycles on. While we had a good spot for the appliance I can imagine that its size might be a problem in a very small room. However for our 13' x 11' space we found a great spot. I think in this coming Northeast winter, when our thermostats are set extra low to save oil, our heater will be a real boon.
Good product November 10, 2008 I love it, it is quiet and the right size for me. I spent $70 on the HZ-515 and don't know if I would want to spend much more. I use about $5 dollars a day in electric powering 2 of these guys along with everything else in my apartment (cost per kilowatt hour is $0.165). Once they get a room up to temp it keeps it warm and toasty. I have one heating 250 sq ft room and I leave to doors open, so I heat about 600 sq ft with both HZ-515's. The average temp is about 45F I think if it gets much colder the HZ-515's will not be able to heat the area well and I will have to get an added heat source.
Burned but not warm November 8, 2008 Not worth a lot of words. This heater just does not generate a lot of heat. The only time the room this heater is in gets warm is when spring comes.Expensive but useless.
Quiet But a Bit Slow November 6, 2008
Pros: - No carbon monoxide emission (compared to heaters than use kerosene and profane fuel) - Very quiet. Even oil-filled heaters produces noises when it heats up (like somebody is frying inside). - Has a screen to prevent burns when you touch the surface - Adjustable thermostat
Cons: - Very slow to heat the room - Unless the air circulates in the room, the heat tend to concentrate on the side of the room where the heater is placed. - Huge footprint
