Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Review
This WindChaser fan takes breezy cool-down to a new level by adding water to the mix. Perfect for hot, dry climates, the fan combines an extra-powerful shower-proof motor with simple operation. Just hook it to a standard 3/4-inch garden hose, turn it on, and sit back. The fan features aerodynamic blades and four misting nozzles angled out from the center panel to direct water into the air path. Capable of cooling outdoor temperature a full 25 degrees F, the fan also cuts down on dust and discourages flying insects. The fan's power panel is straightforward, with covered switches and three separate speeds. The unit can also be used indoors or without the misting function, and a simple pull-button in back stops the oscillating. All of the fan's components are resistant to UV rays and rust, and the three-pronged power cord is structured for safety. The fan head measures 16 inches in diameter and the diameter of the base is 20 inches. The unit is adjustable from 47 inches to 58 inches high. It is UL listed for indoor and outdoor use and comes with four replacement nozzles. --Emily Bedard

5 out of 5 stars WindChaser Outdoor Misting Fan   October 21, 2008
I was hesitant to order because it was through a outside seller, but it turned out just fine. The order was shipped the same day and the seller sent email updates all along the way. The fan arrived when promised; I'm very pleased.

5 out of 5 stars a must have if you live in the desert   September 29, 2008
My husband loves to BBQ but living in Vegas means you have to endure temperatures well in excess of 100 degrees for all of the summer and much of the spring and fall... but not if you own the WindChaser misting fan. The fan was easy to assemble and works like a charm. You can use it with or without hooking it up to the water hose. When it is hooked up to the garden hose, it is easy to adjust the misting spray and it cools a wide area since the fan circulates.

1 out of 5 stars Poor customer service   September 14, 2008
My children ordered me a fan for Father's Day for use at our lake home. We put it together in July and the fan did not oscillate. At the children's insistance I later emailed the seller. They basically said it's not our problem, call the manufacter. My children ordered me a new one from a different seller and it works fine. However they paid for two to get one that works.. I hope it holds up. I won't order anything from Ace Photo again.

5 out of 5 stars Summer Breeze   September 9, 2008
Loved this product, made my summer cool and refreshing, with or without the mist. Highly recommended.

4 out of 5 stars WindChaser Misting Fan Review   August 15, 2008
The fan was easy to assemble. It works as desired, though as expected, the tiny water sprayer bits tend to calcify in our hard water. Since the parts are plastic, there is no "metal rattle" common in some metal fans. The fan head rotates from side to side or can be set to hold in a stationary position.

The fan and misting feature provides an excellent source of cooling air mist on a hot summer day (100 degrees plus). Running the misting fan in the garden or on the patio lowers the temperature in the surrounding area significantly. It's easy to turn on the water too hard and end up soaking both guests and furniture - just the tiniest bit of water pressure provides the desired mist and cooled air.

Though not particularly heavy, the fan is awkward to pick up and move. I suggest putting the fan on a wheeled garden pot holder (make sure it's large and sturdy to prevent tipping over).

We've tried various methods for cleaning the misting heads - if you use an oil based lubricant (WD40?), be sure the head is rinsed completely clean to prevent misting your guests with tiny oily bits.
