The technical details for this lock say, "4 pin cylinder helps prevent picking." There is nothing about this lock that helps prevent picking. In the sport lock picking community the Master No. 3 is a popular 1st lock to learn lock picking with because of the ease in which it can be picked.

I was a professional locksmith for ten years and sold hundreds of these Master No. 3 padlocks. I still use several that are more than 25 years old. Strong and durable, I've never seen one break. An excellent choice for a locker, toolbox, rural mailbox, shed, etc. As with all but the most massive, covered shackle padlocks, these can be cut with a bolt cutter. In most cases this lock will resist an attack better than the hasp or chain you're using. Especially if used outdoors, use WD40 to lubricate several times a year.
