Garmin Friction Dashboard Mount October 15, 2008
The dashboard mount is far superior to the windshield mount.
Its stays in place and is easy to move around the dash, plus,
when you stop you can easily set your GPS in the car's floor
to keep it out of site. I highly recomment this mount.
Great Option for Garmin October 15, 2008
I got this holder when I got a new car and didn't want the mess on my window from the suction. I recently took it on a 5 hour trip and it didn't budge once. It allowed me to place the Garmin closer to me and not block my view. I wish I would have bought one sooner, but never knew if they worked as advertised. They do! Highly recommended!

Better than windshield mount October 14, 2008
When you mount your GPS to the windshield it's a come-on to thieves. Even if you hide it, the round suction cup spots on the windshield give you away. The Garmin friction mount solves this problem well. The GPS attaches to the mount and leaves no telltale signs. I keep my GPS in a carrying bag and the protable mount fits in quite well. Also, I find that the portable mount makes the screen easier to adjust for good visibility than the window mount. I got the best price on the internet at Amazon but I believe that, considering its construction, the item is overpriced by the maker.

The Garmin portable dashboard mount has been a lifesaver for me. While I do not travel a lot, being able to take it with me when I do means I do not have to pay the outrageous fee that the car rental companies chage to have one in your vehicle. This item is a must have for anyone who travels or who has more than one car. The mount stays firmly in place on your dashboard and does not detract from your driving.
