Product Description Broom Vac (Black). Nothing Escapes the Power of a Dirt Devil.
Amazon.com Review Sweep up the kitchen floor in record time without repetitive bending with this lightweight broom vacuum from Dirt Devil. The 9.6-volt broom vacuum sucks up dirt and debris from hardwood and other bare floors with ample power, eliminating any need for a dustpan or the accompanying bending over. The cordless broom vacuum sucks up dirt through a 10-inch wide nozzle. Debris travels through a replaceable filter to collect in a dirt cup. The dirt cup removes from the broom vacuum with ease and is see-through for external fullness monitoring. A foot switch engages the broom vacuum's motor. To operate the broom vacuum, employ a standard sweeping movement. The broom vacuum is designed to tackle dry spills rather than puddles and soggy messes. Cordless in design, the vacuum eliminates tangled cords while providing endless range of movement. To recharge the unit, plug the unit into its adapter. For the best results and safety, read all enclosed material prior to use. Imported from Royal Appliance Mfg Co. in the United Kingdom, the broom vacuum necessitates some simple, tool-free assembly. Vacuum parts and the motor are both covered by one-year limited warranties. Upon shipping, the vacuum measures 21 by 13 by 4 inches and weighs approximately 5 pounds. --Jessica Reuling

Suction Power Lacking October 2, 2008 I rec'd this item as a wedding gift. At first, I thought it was great because it definitely beats using a broom and dustpan. However, I quickly learned that it has major limitations - notably its suction power, and the fact that hair and other items are constantly getting stuck in the bristles.
Also - it doesn't run very long on one charge, and immediately loses its suction power at that point. I'd much rather suffer through the inconvenience of a cord, rather than have a vacuum that loses suction power so rapidly.
Love this vacuum broom, a great product August 18, 2008 I ordered this to clean my new bamboo floors in my kitchen and dining room as well as my bedroom. I followed the directions to fully charge the broom when I got it for 24 hours. I then proceeded to use it after meals to clean up, and to suck up dust in my bedroom and I love what it does. It has great suction and lasted for a weeks time of using and I just plugged it back in to charge it up again. I highly recommend this for wood floors for cleaning up crumbs, dust, & hair.
Great hair getter July 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a nice product on smooth surfaces - vinyl floors, laminate - pergo type, and smooth tile. Not going to replace a real vacuum or mop. I have 2 cats and this item is great for a fast run over laminate floor and vinyl. Regular brooms blow dust bunnies and hair all over. This dirt devil sucks them up. Two points - clean filter often and be mindful of the angle of the broom on floor - directly affects the ability of the suction. Overall, makes quick work of hair, traces of kitty litter, and small debris on floor. I would recommend for someone with lots of smooth floor surfaces.
better off with a broom July 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
pluses: 1) bought the refurbished version for something like $20. 2) pretty good suction (but it can't quite pick up litter). 3) good design makes it fairly easy to empty dirt.
minuses: 1) over time the filter gets clogged with small particles and suction degrades a bit. 2) waste of electricity.
conclusion: you're better off with a wide broom, which will actually do a better job and do it more quickly.
Disappointed! July 4, 2008 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought the broom vac Jan 2007. It worked very well on my kitchen tile and my hardwood floors. I kept it on all the time while vacuuming. The charge lasted about 20 minutes...enough to get the floors finished. Emptying the dirt bin was cumbersome, but I liked the vac so well, I went ahead and ordered 5 filters. When one filled up, I put in a clean one, washed the one I had removed, then let it dry completely. I kept the vac on the charger when not in use. I was so happy with the vac that I showed it to all my friends and urged them to get one. WELL, after about 4 months, the vac began losing power after a few minutes using it. Finally, it would hold a charge no longer than one minute! I looked on line to see if I could find replacement batteries. No, I couldn't. I found a customer help number, and when I called I was given the location of the nearest repair shop. I called the shop and was told they could repair it for free (under warranty)...... just bring in the receipt. You guessed it.....no receipt. I had cleaned out all my handbags several weeks earlier and must have thrown it out. Just my luck...I save every darn receipt I've ever gotten....but not this one! Anyway, I still keep the vac on the charger, and I find that after charging for a week or more, it will run about 5 minutes. Don't buy one. If anyone had found a similar, but better vac, please let me know.
