A Leg to Stand On May 15, 2008 Recently ordered the Denali stand with the DeWalt DW718 compound miter saw - they're a great match. The Denali stand required some minimal assembly to put the extension and support arms together, but otherwise came fully assembled out of the box. The mounting slides for your power tool of choice are not quite as ergonomic as the DeWalt stand, but I like the release handles better than the DeWalt. And you can still lift the tool off the stand and set it down flat with the slides still attached.
Overall quality is pretty good, but the threads on some of the set screws/knobs and on the carriage bolts supplied to mount your saw to the stand were poorly cut. One carriage bolt/nut combo refused to tighten down so I had to replace it out of my parts bin. A few other reviewers complained about not being able to get parts, but all of the potential problem bits could be replaced for under $10 at your local hardware store. The quality of the tubing and welds was very good, the stand is very sturdy and stable, and collapses easily into a nice size for transport or storage.
Given the total price is half that of the DeWalt stand, I think the Denali is a great value. If not for the one defective carriage bolt, I'd have given it 5 stars.
Great value May 11, 2008 Having originally considered the De Walt Table, I can honestly say that other than being somewhat smaller than the De Walt everything else is of the same quality at about half the price.
Great stand May 5, 2008 This stand was purchased for the Bosch 4410L miter saw. It's a fantastic stand - solid and well built. I had seen the Bosch stand prior to getting this one and it was shaky when using the saw. It had one leg that was height adjustable for uneven ground, but despite that, it just wasn't all that sturdy. The Denali stand is rock solid and works very well. The only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is the lack of wheels for easy moving and storage, but other than that, I highly recommend it.
Happy guy April 5, 2008 Wish I would have had this years ago!!! Makes work a lot easier. Well designed product, very sturdy, don't hesitate to buy it.
Early Results March 19, 2008 I just received the stand today and within ten minutes I had it together with the saw on it and I cut my first board. I believe that this stand is as rigid as my Dewalt was when it was new. Tomorrow I'll be cutting 2 by's for a built-in entertainment center so I'll know more after that. First response is this could be very good for the cost. I didn't give it a 5 because I don't give out 5's unless this turns out to be perfect and without pneumatic wheels if can't be a 5.
Its been a couple of weeks and one built-in entertainment center later I can say that this stand does well. As I said before it would be nice to have wheels but I'll fabricate something later. It only real short coming is that it would be nice to have longer stock supports but even so it's not bad with it's current capacity. I'm a little worried about the plastic knobs but all in all, I think I'll purchase another to throw in my pick up for the job site. Nothing wrong with this stand.
