 Severly fades bright colors! November 20, 2009

I washed a vibrant yellow picnic tapestry in this detergent. I removed it from the dryer to find it severely faded. I mean it was so drastically faded that it brought a tear to my eye. I would not trust this detergent on any colored item that you care about!

I really like the smell of this detergent. I like it both when I do the wash and how my clothes smell afterwards. I also buy it because it's an environmentally friendly product. I do wish that I could get a larger bottle instead of the smaller bottles because then I'd be reducing the amount of plastic bottle creation that I'm contributing to. It is a good value, price-wise, to buy it from Amazon and it's an even better value with the subscribe and save feature. But I still wish I could subscribe and save with bigger bottles instead.

When we received the product two of the containers were broken open and all over the contents of the box. The deal is not very good when you loose two bottles in transport.

Seventh Generation products are outstanding!!! They do exactly what they are advertized to do AND they are environmentally friendly. The Free and Clear products are scent free as well. Just can't ask for more than that, but Amazon gives it to you anyways. Discounts and free shipping right to my door, when you subscribe to this item. It costs more for me to drive to the local market and buy ths product than to have Amazon deliver it. I'm one totally satisfied customer!

After reading the reviews, I realized that my beautiful new pima cotton pajamas were "tie dyed" by this detergent and that I hadn't done anything wrong with the washing instructions!
I wasn't impressed by the efficacy of this product, AND to now know that it also ruins clothing!!?? I just purchased and have yet to wash a couple of new dark colored pima cotton jerseys, and I am SO THANKFUL that I read these reviews before putting them in a wash with a Seventh Generation detergent.
I will reserve the remainder of this product for my whites only and not buy this product in the future.
