Customer Reviews:
3 out of 5 stars nice nailer, but it won't replace a full size palm nailer   November 16, 2009
Kerry Pierce (Detroit, MI USA)
The Senco Mini Palm nailer is a very handy tool to have, when you have jobs that you can't use a full size palm nailer. Mine works very well on most of the jobs I've done with it. The only problem I've had is that it won't accept the heads of the 16d 3 1/2" bright common nails that I was using for a framing job. Senco's manual tells you of that head size limitation. It worked fine on the 12d 3 1/8" coated sinkers that I used in place of the 16d nails.

In short, if you want a good nailer that will handle almost any nailing job easily and quickly, get a full size palm nailer like the Senco PC0781 Pneumatic Palm Nailer or the DEWALT D51180 Heavy-Duty Palm Nailer or one of the other full sized palm nailers instead of a mini. The mini nailers are more of a specialty item for use in tight places, and there is where they shine, with the proper sized nails and are best used in conjunction with a full sized nailer.

This was given as a Christmas gift. It has not been used yet. If it is like the other Senco nailers I have owned it should great.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Product   December 13, 2008

The previous reviewer has obviously never used a palm nailer before and did not read the directions. It is common for palm nailers to get into an intermediate stroke state where they leak air if they have been dropped while not connected to air. All it takes is a good stiff slap of the nailers back to drive the cylinder into one end of its travel. I have a full size palm nailer, but there are times where even it is too big. I was amazed at how small and light it was. When nailing metal connectors in tight quarters it is often difficult to get a good angle on the nails, and to get into corners. With this thing it is a breeze. Despite its small size it does not seem to have too much vibration, and its lightweight are a big plus when maneuvering in tight places when you may not have the best leverage. The performance it right up there with my full size palm nailer, and this is a case where less is more.

1 out of 5 stars Failed   October 30, 2008

Bought this item from another vendor not from Amazon. Used it to drive 4 nails and put it back in it's box. Two weeks later plugged it in to the air compressor and the nailer immediately released all the air. Apparently the air seals failed. I used it with a small 2 gallon 100 PSI compressor that has a .3 CFM rating so I am sure that the compressor did not cause the failure. The palm nailers are great items but in this case the unit did not survive long enough to evaluate the unit. Returned it to the store and bought the Grip Rite GRTMP16 Mini Palm Nailer.
