4 out of 5 stars Moultrie Game Spy I-40 Game Camera   October 28, 2009

I have owned my Moultrie I-40 infrared Camera for about one month. I have had great success and I am happy with the product. Of course there are a few issues with the Camera that will need to be addressed. I have built my own box to hang and secure my trail camera. Because we all know that the strap system that is used to secure the camera to the tree or post is cheaply built. I have read that the SD slot is hard to remove and install a new card. Yes this is also true for all of us with large fingers. It is a good idea to carry a needle nose plier with you on cold mornings when wearing gloves. Also when you set the camera up you well need to have away to slow the deer down. It takes about 3 seconds for the shutter speed. So if you have a bucket of apples or grain this works well. Make sure your State regulations allow it. All in all it takes great pictures day and night and the battery life seems to be holding. I am moving the trail cam to a new location and will add more comments after the Rut. The weather will be turning cold in the north so I'll see just how well the I-40 holds up to below freezing temps.

5 out of 5 stars BEST CAMERA FOR THE MONEY   October 25, 2009

MOULTRIE I40 WORKS GREAT DAY & NIGHT. IHAVE TWO OF THESE NOW & WILL BUY ANOTHER WHEN MY CHEAPER CAMERAS GO BAD. EASY TO OPERATE, JUST A LITTLEBIT BOTHERSOME GETTING TO THE MEMORY CARD. A TIGHT SPOT FOR BIG FINGERS.A PAIR OF TWEESERS WORKS GREAT FOR REMOVING CARD WITHOUT OPENING BATTERY DOOR.

1 out of 5 stars definate, DON'T BUY   October 22, 2009

Purchased this product, worked !st season O.K., stored over summer without batteries, installed new batteries to return to woods and front display wouldn't show numbers, only black squares. Called customer service and was told to return for no charge repair or replacement. The nice lady I talked to said there wasn't even a need for a receipt, they would just take care of it. After they received it at Moultrie I got a call telling me the gasket on the battery door was broken ( See other reviews with same problem )and allowed moisture to enter in shorting out a circuit board and this problem was not covered by warranty. I guess I didn't change the little rubber band gasket every time I removed the memory card to prevent this problem. They said the cost to repair would be about 90% of the price of a new camera which I declined. They said they would return my junk camera.( I guess so I can throw it away.) I am a sporting goods dealer and I informed Moultrie in our phone conversation that I would never recommend any of their products because of poor quality but mainly their customer service making empty promises.
