The DVD Workouts
Each of the 12 highly diverse and intense DVD workouts focuses on either a specific set of muscle groups or a unique training technique.

  • Workout One: Chest & Back. This superset chest-and-back-blasting workout emphasizes two classic upper-body exercises--push-ups and pull-ups--to build strength and develop shape. I agree with previous reviews stating that you can make this as easy or as hard as you want. I am just starting week 2 and things are really beginning to happen. Sure, I flopped around on the ground like a fish when doing the Ab RipperX and Yoga as I'm not strong enough yet for most of the moves; However, I keep on trying and my body is feeling it. My muscles are sore but I can do a couple more reps every time I complete a session. From past experience with weight training, I know that if I keep on pushing play and giving it a whole hearted effort, I will get the results that others have successfully gotten.

Don't expect miracles overnight. You have to put in the work to get the results. Don't blame the product if you don't get results when you skip a couple of sessions every week or eat whatever you want. This truly is not a beginners work out.

I am a very active person (basketball, weight training, cross country running, hiking, etc...) and even with all of that, my workouts have become stale and I have hit a rut. So I decided to buy P90X to try something different - I would almost just recommend it for the Yoga DVD lol... I hate yoga, but tried the yoga dvd as it is the 4th video of the set, and it kicked my azz! I am 6'7 - 250lbs, I am following the program as closely to a - T - as I can and I have already lost 8 lbs. in the first week. Keep in mind, I have bought into this 100%, meaning, I bought the pull-up bar for the house, 5 - 60lbs. dumbbell set, bands, yoga mat, etc... (keep in mind, I bought all these products from amazon.com and not Tony Horton's website) I would say that the weight training part of P90X can be done by your average Joe or Jane, it's not till the pull-ups, plyometrics, yoga, etc.. that the challenging parts come in.

This is a great program, but regardless of who you are, you have to work your way up to what the videos are doing. Some will have to work longer than others, but anyone can really do this.

The nutrition guide is basic, but it's enabled me to lose 8lbs. in my first week. Yes, for those of you who are in the, "KNOW," that is exactly what's supposed to happen when you stop eating junk, but the guide tells you what to eat and how much, so you don't have to think about it, and that alone is worth it.

My plan is to use this program for 3 months, take a break, go back to the gym for 3 months, then come back to it for 3 months, and then the gym for 3 months. This way you can do exactly what Tony preaches, constant muscle confusion and routine change.

I bought this DVD not so long ago and everything is in perfect shape!!! I loved the deal so I decided to buy it and it works great. Everything seemed like new and nothing has gone wrong so far. The DVD's, Nutrition Guide, and etc. are in great shape. I really liked how the shipping was very quick, less than a week.
