Soil hole auger October 26, 2009 Paul J. Shane (Low Country, SC) What's to say. The oversized earth drill big made holes in my heavy clay so I could install termite baits and traps.
I powered the auger with a heavy duty 1/2 inch electric drill. Neat holes took only 10-15 seconds.
The only flaw with the product is the round shaft slipping inside the drill chuck. I fixed that by grinding flats on three sides.
Roto Planter September 11, 2009 Priscilla R. Szabo The good old elbow grease method sent me to the doctor. It was painfull. Than I heard about that product and took a chance, ordered it. Now it is a pleasure to plant in my garden. The only dis-adventage is that it almost pulverize the dirt, so it takes time to dig it out but that is small trouble for the eazy planting.
Since it's not quite fall, I haven't had a chance to use it. But, I think I will like it! September 4, 2009 Flower Love (Caldwell, ID) 0 out of 7 found this review helpful
I haven't written a review yet because I haven't had a chance to use it. It's not quite fall yet, and I don't have the bulbs to plant yet...
Sturdy backsaver July 10, 2009 Gramma Catalano (USA) This product is exactly what I was looking for. It is a sturdy steel auger that when attached to your drill digs a good sized hole (about 3") across and as deep as 12". To make a bigger hole you just have to expand along the outer edges of the first. I also found this tool useful in breaking up the top layer of dirt just by using it at shallow angle. It even worked great in clay soil as long as you watered the ground thoroughly before hand. This was a real back saver for me. I dug over 20 holes in under 10 minutes. This will be perfect for planting bulbs.
skiffcaptain May 21, 2009 Mike (Annapolis, MD) Great product. Perfect for planting bulbs, flowers, vegetables etc. Creates a large hole in soft dirt. Easy attach to drill. Glad I bought. Looks durable and should last for years.
