| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Product Description Carbon monoxide (CO) is the leading cause of accidental poisoning deaths in America, yet many people don't know they are suffering from CO poisoning until its too late. Since symptoms of CO poisoning are like the flu, you might not even know you're in danger at first. That's why a carbon monoxide alarm is an excellent way to protect your family. It can detect the CO you can't see, smell or taste in the air. The First Alert CO615 carbon monoxide alarm uses an electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor-the most accurate technology available. Installation is as simple as plugging it in to any wall outlet. Its easy-to-read backlit digital LED display gives you a clear read-out of current CO concentrations in parts per million. The alarm includes a battery back-up giving you peace of mind in a power outage. The test/silence button both silences a non-threatening alarm or low battery warning and allows you to test the unit's functionality. The unit monitors and re-alarms if carbon monoxide levels persist sounding a loud 85-decibel horn. An audible and visual low battery signal alerts you to replace the battery and an indicator alerts you when a battery has been removed. An end-of-life alarm of three chirps alerts you to replace the unit. One 9-volt battery is included. 5-year limited warranty. UL listed. --Bree Norlander What's in the Box One carbon monoxide alarm, one 9-volt battery, and user's manual

Works fine November 18, 2009 John J. Hill It was a simple plug-in (didn't use the extender). It beeped for a couple seconds, then has been quiet since (3 weeks or so). Gotta believe it's doing its job.
monoxcide detector November 5, 2009 Ed Hart Easy to use, however, instructions not clear as to insertion of back up battery, and I had to make a phone call to get the answer. But the cost is excellent.
Not what is says November 4, 2009 Nichol Wind 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this CO because it said (as shown below taken from Amazon page)"Combination Smoke and CO Alarms". This is only a CO alarm NOT a combination. Also says "UL listed. --Bree Norlander" Who is Bree Norlander? I googled it and she works at Microsoft? What does she have to do with 1st Alert Carbon Monoxide alarms. Confusing to say the least. Buy another brand Amazon has many more options that are less confusing and you will know what you get.

So far, so good August 30, 2009 DC (Colorado) This Carbon Monoxide alarm seems to work, of course, Thank God, we haven't had any CO problems for it to go off.
Poor product August 2, 2009 A. Narayana 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
After inserting the batteries, the battery door would not close. It will be difficult to trust this product to save your life. Based on another reviews, this company should be ashamed of itself.
